Guardian: weaponised emotional blackmail from 14yo 'trans' athlete

The Guardian's rearguard action on reality continues. Apparently the problem is not the parents and authorities who conspired to lie to this boy, coddle his delusions, disadvantage all girls around him in the service of his own wishful thinking etc etc etc: it's definitely the people who pointed it out:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/jun/17/trans-athlete-no-one-should-face-vicious-attacks

I am prepared to feel a little sorry for the kid, who couldn't have been exposed like this if the useful idiots around him had done their fucking jobs. But the Grauniad can fuck off with the tired 'beee kiiiind' shit as a solution. Been there, binned the t-shirt. We want our shit back.

I’m a 14-year-old trans athlete. No one should face the vicious attacks I have faced | Lina Haaga

People understand gender differently, and I was taught to respect all ideas. But the vitriol I recently experienced was not a healthy debate

I did feel a little sorry for him until he started lieing about his athletic advantages and playing the sympathy card about his public shaming and all I could think was yes you should be ashamed you know that you're male and yet you still chose to compete in a girls race and you stole your sisters 1st place.
His parents should also be ashamed of themselves and him

parietal · Yesterday 17:58

he has been failed by the whole belief system around him that allowed him to spend the last 10 years thinking that he is a girl.

HobnobsChoice · Yesterday 17:59

Incredibly financially privileged male thinks more things should be his.
The Haaga family are very wealthy. Lina was named Paul as is his father. Mother is called Catalina and now so is he... odd.

Arran2024 · Yesterday 18:04

He doesn't realise his male advantage is growing as he develops? Really?

PrizedPickledPopcorn · Yesterday 18:05

Very sad that he has experienced this incident of targeted vitriol- he’s right, 14yr olds shouldn’t be reading such things about themselves in newspapers. But he’s totally missed the reasons for his experience.
Not bigoted ignorant transphobes choosing to target a child for their gender incongruence, but people who have indeed done their reading and both know and understand the implications for girls that he’s oblivious to.

Boy with privilege and inherent unfair advantages uses the old “poor me” control drama to try and get more unfair advantages…. That tracks.

Columbidae · Yesterday 18:08

I feel sympathy for how he has been so completely failed by the adults in his life. The rest of the article is full of arrogance and delusion.

He is a thief. He stole from his sister and the other girls who were running.

Yep.

Arrogant drivel. I feel sorry for him to an extent, but the ‘hear all these trans voices’ bit just underlines for me so much how little women mean to these men. We aren’t even real, just a stage for them to perform on.

That and the precocious mansplainery of 'do the work' and read 'proper' science.

We did, m'laddo. That's why we're terfs.

And no way was that piece written by a 14 year old.

DumpyVictoria · Yesterday 18:42

Poor girl. When will this hatred of transgirls subside? Hope she doesn't let it get to her too much.

It was a moment of joy, as simple, fleeting and shared as the victory of any other child...
Peer-reviewed studies in the British Journal of Sports Medicine or the National Center for Biotechnology Information provide a deeper scientific context.

Absolutely normal prose style for a 14 year old, surely!🙄

RedToothBrush · Yesterday 18:46

In what way is this boy different to an incel?

Absolutely. I have a smart and literate 14-year-old boy but no way could he come come up with something like that, even after being smoothed out by a Guardian sub-editor.

There’s no such thing as a “transgirl”, he’s a cheating boy.

The poor girl was his older sister and the other girls who's wins he stole by competing in a female event whe hes male.
I very much hope that all the public shaming prevents him from competing in another female event though i doubt it will

Iamnotalemming · Yesterday 19:30

There's a staggering lack of self awareness in that article, even for a 14 year old.

Secretseverywhere · Yesterday 19:35

I do think this is a form of child abuse. No child at four years old should be socially transitioned.

I do agree that no 14 year old should be attacked online but the situation of a trans 14 yo shouldn’t come up. Watchful waiting and therapy to understand why they feel this way.

It feels like such a mindfuck how are you supposed to find your sense of self when you’ve been lied to (affirmed) by everyone around you since the age of four.

Reduxx reported on ‘Lina’ last month.

https://reduxx.info/male-student-wins-girls-prep-league-championship-track-title-beating-his-own-sister-for-gold/

He didn’t beat his sister by ‘milliseconds’ either - it was 0.58 seconds.

Well, 580 milliseconds :-)

Recognising female people also exist and are also worth caring about isn't hatred, although treating them like their only purpose is to be a supporting cast for male self actualisation might be. HTH
