Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

"The motion, which is now formal policy for the Greens in England and Wales, also calls for a single Palestinian state in place of Israel “with equal rights for all"

Seriously they've gone that far, they've adopted Hamas's Charter to wipe out Israel.
I can't believe this got any traction in 2026, even with complete and total fucking idiots that they have in the Greens, they've officially made themselves worse than Hitler and the Nazi's.

Scumbags each and every one of the 1022 sorry excuses for humans.

Holy fuck, they went there.

ArabellaScott · Yesterday 15:57

Is that not arguably illegal?

'In a move opposed by the bulk of the party’s MPs, members voted at the party’s annual conference in Brighton to back a motion which calls for Zionism, the movement for a Jewish state, to be “treated as any other form of racism”. It passed by 1,022 votes to 813.'

What is Zionism and why do some critics describe it as racist?

Absolutely incredible.

Passed by 1,022 votes to 813.

They packed the room but it didn't pass by much. Problem is there is another 200,000 members. Be interesting to see if they go along with out right racism. I think there will be huge internal row.

Meanwhile the Green ban on women talking about their biology is attracting negative attention gone viral on X. News reports coming in.

The other big consideration is should the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) launch an investigation into the party as they did into the BNP and Labour when they started breaking the equality act.

All 5 MPs issued a joint statement that seemed to be them trying to distance themselves from the motion.

https://leftfootforward.org/2026/10/green-mps-make-last-ditch-attempt-to-stop-zionism-is-racism-motion/

I wonder if they realise the party has gone past the point of being acceptable.

fromorbit · Yesterday 16:14

The EHRC should do something. The rhetoric is as bad as Labour under Corbyn. Plus the party is clearly massively sexist.

The Holborn voters hopefully will act appropiately.

I wonder what the Jewish People's Council Against Fascism and Anti-Semitism, one of the organisations that rallied people to Cable Street 90 years ago today, would have thought of the motion the Green Party conference passed today.

From that report only three Green MPs have issued a statement as neither Ellie Chowns nor Hannah Spencer has issued a statement. Co-Deputy Leader Mothin Ali is all in favour of the motion & voted for it.

I think BBC report said all; 5. Hold on

Guardian says 4/5

Jordan Stokes seems to be claiming responsibility for protesting the Green Party Women event on women's pelvic floor health. Chair of GP in West Norfolk. Councillor in Dersingham Parish Council.

What sort of man crashes an event like this?

These men are basically the Taliban in rainbow lanyards at this point.

"The motion, which is now formal policy for the Greens in England and Wales, also calls for a single Palestinian state in place of Israel “with equal rights for all""

And how are they imagining this might happen?

It's not genocide if they do it I guess.

Could not agree more. The misogyny and attempted silencing of women is very similar.

Seems like a clear antisemitic hate crime and incitement to violence to me. How do they think a Palestinian state will replace Israel without something like the 'final solution' (aka genocide) that the Nazis proposed. Except the Nazis were a bit less blatant about it at this point in their political trajectory.

Edited to add: I hope that any Jewish people who still have Green Party membership get their money back and are ok. Also, anyone Jewish in a Green constituency. Must be quite terrifying.

iwishitwouldstartraining · Yesterday 17:38

I think the people helped most by this motion are far right Israeli politicians who can now point to a U.K. political party with MPs that wants to wipe out the state of Israel.

iwishitwouldstartraining · Yesterday 17:56

It’s the determination to zone in on Zionism that confuses me. Most people in the U.K. only vaguely understand what it means and doesn’t it also mean different things to Jewish people? Why is it necessary to have a policy on Zionism at all?”

It seems politically inept, but is this just the logical consequence of trying to grow the party by attracting extremists who wouldn’t be welcome in other parties, and then having a constitution that puts them in charge?

It's one of the central tenets of the Omnicause, the philosophy of those who consider themselves "Progressive".

Obviously it is pouring petrol into the fire of finternal Israeli politics, but also into Palestian politics as well . It justifies violent extremism and military action.

The key thing is no=one supporting it actually cares about peace in the Middle East.

In the UK it is great news for the right in general.

Be interesting to see the Labour response.

In European politics it will have an effect. I saw a suggestion on twitter is the British Greens may end up being expelled by European Green movement.
European Greens have a commitment to equality and non-discrimination in their charter.

European right parties will again find it a useful source of proof of what they see as left/green extremism.

I wonder what the reaction in Egypt and Jordan would be, if they were to pay attention to a piddling little UK political party, there's no way either of them will accept a Palestinian State on their borders, they despise the Pally's more than they hate the Jews.
There 120 million people in Egypt and given the Pally's have been genocided they can't be much more than a handful left in Gaza by now, so the Egyptians will be able to roll right in without firing a shot. 😂

Somehow those intent on antisemitism and 'free Palestine' in the UK rarely seem to consider the wider Middle East or other states much closer and, it could be argued, therefore likely to be more well informed about the reality of the situation than any UK politician or member of the public.

I don't really understand why the Green party thinks it's appropriate to comment on the validity of any other state at all. Especially ones so far away.

Alex Davies-Jones MP
Welsh Labour MP for Pontypridd Minister for Victims, VAWG & International Justice
I know the profound hurt and alarm the Green Party motion will be causing to many in the Jewish community.

Labour learned the hard way about addressing extremism in its ranks and we took action to rip the antisemitism from our party by the roots.

I am speaking to friends who are members of the community to let them know they needn't be frightened, that this is an unacceptable position and that there will always be those in power who will continue to tackle antisemitism head on.
