Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn9enygvezeo

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5456759-sexismother-issues-in-the-green-party-england-wales-discussion-thread-2?

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

The image of Mothin Ali and his wife in full burka with a man presenting as a woman stood behind - says it all really.

Quite something, isn’t it! The GP in miniature

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 05/10/2026 20:23

The greens are channelling the NF, that's priceless. There's a left road and a right road to authoritarianism but once there, there's no difference between them.
Lets hope now they've shown their true colours, our government will grow a spine, and send them all packing back to where they come from.

ProudWomanXX · 05/10/2026 20:26

As a former GPEW long standing member and activist the structure of the GP means it's very easy for "bad faith" activists to gain control internally, at a meaningful level.

It used to be more difficult but once a critical mass of them are in positions of power on the Organising committees, it's easy.

Classic Denton's playbook, sadly.

Mothin Ali, whilst born in Sheffield, is of Bangladeshi heritage. Assuming his wife is too.......it is certainly not a cultural norm for women in Bangladesh to wear the niqab/full burka. To my mind the fact that she did can only be read as a political statement.....and that statement is a fundamentalist Islamic one.

RedToothBrush · 05/10/2026 20:39

We are going to need at least another 40 pages about this shit show of an anti-Semitic woman hating party....

ArabellaScott · 05/10/2026 21:14

RedToothBrush · 05/10/2026 19:30

This isn't subtle at all. It's not trying to pretend it's not anti-Semitism.

They believe they have enough support to do this publicly and they are untouchable.

This is bad.

Yup. Never mind kicked out the party - some of these people need to be arrested.

We have had too many people openly supporting Hamas, chanting racist anti semitic slogans on the streets while the police stand by and carefully ignore it.

Now is the fucking time, politicians.

Feels like a crunch point.

You allow people to openly attack and attempt to dismantle our society, or you say no. No tolerance for terrorism.

What do you mean?

Oh wow and that's from 2025

fromorbit · 05/10/2026 21:53

It is going to be a mess the left entryists are cunning and organised for sure.

Yet the issue for them is the decentralised nature of the Greens makes it tough to control. They can't gain control of most of the local parties. I have seen some claiming they Gaza faction will now take over the Greens completely. Yet outside some urban areas I don't think they have the numbers.

Elections are frequent too. It is easy for them to organise a bunch of fantatics to go to Brighton. Yet what will happen next year in the elections for leader and deputy leader. There anyone can vote of the 20,000 members I think most are more moderate. They will not like being a party which Labour, Tories, Lib Dems and Reform are also saying is racist.

The only senior figure inside the Greens who really backs this racist motion is Mothin Ali. I will be very surprised if Ali survives this. During the campaign against him in 2027 expect lots of accusations of racism to fly around. The women, LGB and trans issues will come up which famously Ali refuses to talk about. What about Rachel Millward? She was against the Zionist motion so we can expect a challenge against her too.

Meanwhile someone will challenge ZPy. Probably someone from the Gaza left as well as a moderate.

Add in the fact the court cases against the Greens for Sexism are coming due we can expect the fighting inside the Greens to intensfy.

Crunch point will be local elections in May. Greens have been steadily gaining ground in councils. If this motion wrecks their reputation they could be facing a threat from Labour, Lib Dems and Tories outside urban areas.

Oh look/ Who could have predicted this.

Exclusive: Labour MPs report the Green party to the police
More than a dozen Labour MPs have reported the Green party to Sussex police and the EHRC over its ‘Zionism is racism’ policy, The Spectator can reveal.

Zack Polanski’s party was plunged deeper into crisis this afternoon after politicians, led by former Home Office minister Mike Tapp and Labour Friends of Israel chair, Mark Sewards, urged police in Brighton to examine whether events at the Green conference may have crossed into criminally actionable racial or religious hatred against Jewish people.

The MPs point to delegates chanting ‘say it loud, say it clear, Zionists are not welcome here’ as a potential legal flashpoint, questioning whether the term ‘Zionist’ was being used as a proxy for Jewish people. They have asked Sussex police to examine whether the Public Order Act may have been breached.

This thread (and preceding threads) are absolutely unbelievable. like some sort of weird twisted dystopia.

One party wants a state where everyone is equal, the other side wants two states (or worse, one state where Palestinians no longer exist or exist in very small numbers).

In one of those two states (which by the way was built on the other sides land after violently ousting them and continuing to oust and kill them and their children in subsequent years), there are concerted, institutionalised efforts to keep it mono-racial.

And yet… the side that wants the state where everyone is equal is being accused of racism??!!!

Jesus bloody wept.

I don’t necessarily agree with this motion, but the comments saying the people who voted this through are the types of people who wouldn’t shield Anne Frank are way off the mark.

Conversely, they are the ones (who by the way in Germany and similar situations were/are in the minority and who were often mocked [as is happening in this thread toward greens]) who WOULD have shielded her, precisely because they are the people who stand up for the oppressed WHEREVER they are and WHOMEVER they are being oppressed by.

And before anyone mentions Sudan, ask yourself why you’re so interested in using Sudan to justify mass murder of innocent civilians in Palestine.

DrBlackbird · 06/10/2026 09:18

@Libby1233455 I’m sure you mean well, but your lack of historical knowledge and full understanding along with an apparent reluctance to see the many many problems of your party and its leadership is exactly why the Green Party has gone from a viable alternative to a non entity in a blink of an eye. And all of this at exactly the time the UK needs a political party focused on ecological issues.

The Trump administration will be making “representations” to the UK over the Green Party passing a motion declaring that “Zionism is racism

Polanski suggests Greens angry at Zionism stance should ‘get over themselves’

Zack Polanski liked a social media post that said people who disliked the Green Party’s “Zionism is racism” motion should “get over yourselves and move on”…
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10/05/chief-rabbi-green-zionism-policy-is-threat-to-britain/

Even The Scottish Greens are little less racist than GEWP if you can fumble through the verbiage in the link. Still pretty awful though

The SNP interestingly is not as horrified at this as other parties saying they don't agree and saying conferences shouldn't debate this stuff.

Scottish Greens respond as backlash grows over Zionism racism motion

First Minister Swinney argued that it isn't the place of political party conferences to set definitions of what constitutes racism.

"I don't agree with the position that was arrived at by the Green Party in England and Wales, and I think we should just stick to the legal definitions of racism," he told PA.

“There's a very well-established set of definitions in law of what constitutes racism, so I don't think it's for party political conferences to decide what and what is not racism."

Ah, the old ‘oh sweetie, aren’t you lovely. But you just don’t understand’.

Um, No.

I’ve worked in Israel and the West Bank and am very knowledgable on the subject, including the history (and conflicting narratives of history), thank you very much.

I am also not a Green Party member, nor do I completely agree with this motion.

There is a LOT of wilful ignorance of the realities of history and reality in Israel on the pro Israel side of this debate, on this thread and in general.

Under the Green Party motion there are people who broadly agree with what you say, but are still technically regarded as racist by the Green Party because they define themselves as Zionist because they believe that Israel is the homeland of the Jews.

There is wide scope for condemning the actions of Israel without deliberately attacking a word that has different meanings for different people and is inextricable from Jewish theology.
