Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

Update meanwhile in Eleanora Folan aka Stats for Lefties and his suspension from the green party

https://bsky.app/profile/leftiestats.bsky.social/post/3mw26zbctak2v

In further crossing the streams news Folan has also received a pledge of solidarity from Sophie Molly aka pot noodle.

Only 20, what about all those that voted for him, surely they must be with him.

Lalgarh · 23/09/2026 18:50

If they're all 2 spirit it might count as 40

According to Google

A healing circle is a safe, supportive gathering where people sit together in a circle to share stories, listen deeply, and support each other's emotional or physical well-being.

It sounds grim, all touch feeling, with dimwits emoting all over the place, they must have to clear up the snot by the bucket. 😂

On balance I think that I would rather spend 30mins sticking pins in my eyes.

Me too, and I've got a massive phobia about eyes.

I saw this and chuckled.

Hypnotits and RussiaToday both chasing the insane left vote, with Count Binface blowing a raspberry in Hypnotits face in the process, was worth Starmer resigning for purely for the entertainment purposes of political nerds like me.

I’m just catching up on about 10 days off of all social and news media. Very entertaining!

Amazing.

Thanks for the link!

it is obvious to me that this ex-actor, ex-hypnotist is an unserious, attention-seeking husk who will say anything to be famous

Perfect.

Lalgarh · 27/09/2026 11:25

Wasn't it about 2023 when he was on the GLA saying that some sort of transport motion should be supported by Jewish voters BC it was a 'vote for Israel '? There was a clip of it circulated

She does write well doesn't she! And so glad she cant get published.

But it just raises the question how did this buffoon every become leader of the party.

Whilst it is quite enjoyable to make out his is an idiot, if the Greens get to have some sort of deciding vote, its quite frightening to think such a complete waste of space would have that much power.

If anything does, the election of Polanski to GP leader shows that something really strange has happened to the Green Party.

(Although to be fair, in his day Boris was just as bonkers.)

He is ruthlessly ambitious. The GPEW structures were set up with a very rosy-tinted view of humans, and is therefore open to abuse by bad actors.

I suppose that is part of it. But all sorts of people are ambitious but dont get where they want.

What does anyone see in him. He doesn't seem very bright - and isn't a convincing speaker.

Is he supposed to have charisma or something? Confused

As pp have said before it’s what he represents. The entire far left of Labour have pretty much defected to the Greens. It’s entryism, it’s his cod socialism and identity politics they’re interested in.

Yes I know that and many other have also flocked into the Green Party.

So why after the massive influx of all the people who were part of that, why choose him.

Not only does he seem prone to blunders, he isn't exactly charismatic.

Or is it as much to do with what seems to be the entrenched sexism.

ie any man is better than a well qualified and people friendly woman?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/09/2026 19:50

The Greens have had female leaders many times, but the Zack project is calculated to appeal to a particular type, as I said. He’s got a certain kind of charisma to those people. We are talking about the Green Party here, not a high bar.

I'll just reply once more, because on one level I dont care. But the leader of the party needs to have appeal to a wider group than the members.

How in thinking about how to get more non Greens to vote for the Greens would you pick someone who is so unconvincing, a poseur?

And whilst it is easy to say the Greens have a particular type, in fact that type is only a small proportion of the Greens as a whole.

Unless the Party are making the daft "logic" that if so many of the new Green members are Zack groupies, then this will get them votes from that demographic in the public at large at a GE?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/09/2026 20:08

That’s exactly what they think, and the majority of the old school Greens and Green leaning floating voters aren’t hung up on the idpol, they just want the Greens to have a higher profile for the good of the environment. Walter Titty is good for that.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 28/09/2026 20:09

You don’t think he has charisma, and nor do I, but other people disagree.

IwantToRetire · 28/09/2026 20:24

Well in fact, I am going to have take a bit of a change in route.

I had totally forgotten (hope google is right) that the only opposition to Zack was a duo, split leader.

And in terms of the voting public, I dont think dual leadership will ever get votes.

I think you're crediting the Greens with way too much. There isn't a lot of evidence that the Greens do a lot of thinking, especially thinking things through, although they seem very good at group think. They've never shown much political acumen and they're not a very rational bunch, so attempting to apply a rational to them is a waste of time.

He definitely has charisma but of the populist type which is not universal, but limited and polarising. He attracts some repels others. Look at the polls where he has extremely high negative ratings.

He is like Trump, or Farage Yet Trump can impress half the US population. ZP has a more limited appeal. Contrast Burnham, no-one can deny his common touch.

That high negative rating is a problem as people are way more worried by ZP, than by blander Greens. So like Farage he may encourage tactical voting and opposition.

Like imagine you are a Tory in Holborn. Voting Labour to keep ZP out might seem a solid plan.

The results of this election will be very telling. If ZP does badly he will be in way more trouble from the extremes of his own party.
