Sexism/other issues in the Green party England & Wales - Discussion Thread 3

Zack Polanski is making things bigger yet again so another thread needed.

Well things have developed rather a lot since the start. ZP started out as being another sexist guy in politics - no shortage those around, but he thought he could take it to a new level and he proved he could do it.

The Green threads have followed his rise from the start of with the Hypnoboobs scandal and much more. There is also:

Mothin Ali as deputy Leader who clearly doesn't believe in trans thinking, but cleverly sidesteps round talking about it, has always had a issues with encouraging racist violence and is now encouraging people to sue the Green party if they attempt to stop them saying racist stuff.

The other deputy Rachel Millward represents the posh rich faction of the Greens who manages to sounding like Reform when opposing Asylum Seekers in her area, but at the same time saying we are too harsh on immigrants in general. Obviously she also doesn't believe women are a thing. Yet she is the least crazy when violence is concerned compared to ZP, and Mothin.

Hypnoboobs scandal got worse recently when it became clear from BBC footage ZP actively believed in the Hypnoboobs thesis rather than being tricked into it.

Alongside all this there is constant ongoing attacks on biological reality from the party in interviews and in policy.

Now in the last week or so after a longstanding spate of antisemetic rhetoric from some Greens during the election campaign and ZP downplaying it. We have synagogues, schools, ambulances attacked, two Jewish people dead and ZP berating unarmed police for risking their lives in fighting a violent killer who was still armed with a knife things have come to a crisis point.

The Greens are becoming ever more sinister with dozens of candidates sounding like they are seventies NF supporters with comments about uppity women and Jewish power. The huge drama over a crazy motion which they were trying to pass against Israel at conference alongside a motion to prevent women having sports will surface again their September conference.

It seems likely after next week The Greens are going to be running a bunch of councils which doesn't bode well after their antics in Bristol.

Yet there is hope, in Bristol women are fighting back_: www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5455053-bristol-council-is-about-to-be-sued_

The fight back from Green Women's Declaration, ( https://www.greenwomensdeclaration.uk/ ) continues and the court cases against GPEW from Emma Bateman and Shahrar Ali are developing, both getting through legal delaying tactics as they move to trial. Gardening is needed. These cases if successful could be dramatic in their impact.

First thread - where you can follow the rise of ZP and lots of other scandal

Second Thread:
https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5456759-sexismother-issues-in-the-green-party-england-wales-discussion-thread-2?

Note the Scottish Greens which are a separate party to the Green Party England/Wales have their own thread for all their sexist drama. They split off because GPEW didn't hate biology and women/gays enough at the time.

I have no intelligence on Reform candidates - they now have a bunch of councillors in the region, so I imagine there will be several contenders.

Great Yarmouth First Extended Universe will probably stand Nick Buckley.

It'll be interesting to see where Labour go. If I were advising them I'd probably say stick with Bev Craig or some other solid, unexciting local government figure. Don't be daft enough to put up Gary Neville. But what do I know, Labour bods seem to think Gary is a proletarian everyman with a mystical connection to the working class. It's a bit like the idea common on the right that Jeremy Clarkson (public schoolboy, arch Remainer, close friend of David Cameron) is an avatar of the Brexit-voting working class.

Burnham is Liverpool fan isn't he?

There's a thread already on the expected resignation/ change of PM and one poster based in Manchester is already pissed that this likely means the Manchester mayoral election will go Reform

Burnham is Liverpool fan isn't he?

No, Everton.

Clarkson, like Boris, can pull off the man of the people act though. Farage too, to an extent. Something that Starmer was never going to be able to do.

Gary Neville was incidentally the subject of Gareth Roberts’ latest “Working Class Zeroes” Substack this week.

It's amazing to watch this exchange.
Harriet Harman "can't believe" Polanski would be such a liar and misogynist to make these hypnotherapy claims.
Yes Harriet, we "can't believe" you think men can become women and that you fought for PIE.
Then we see the modern MSM, Cathy Newman (who somehow has carved out a lucrative career for years) totally deflects and doesn't bear down on Polanski for an answer.
And then Polanski, not just any old politico, but a party leader, refuses to engage, turning defence into ad hominem attack with the full cover of useful idiot Newman.
There in a nutshell we have our insane politics and unfit for purpose MSM "scrutiny".

SwirlyGates · 23/06/2026 09:39

Just when I thought I couldn't despise Polanski any more, I came across this. (It's from July 2025, so may have been shared on here before). Yes, Polanski really does think abused men with penises belong in women's DV shelters. And of course he centres the poor TiM, who he says would be at risk in a men's shelter. Sod the women, eh, Dave? "Most people think just let people get on with their lives." Then he says people are more concerned about the NHS and food supplies, which may be true but doesn't address the question.

(And neither of them address the problem of abusive male partners turning up at the shelter and demanding entry, claiming they are "women").

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/06/2026 10:55

Yes, so they’re more concerned about the NHS and food supplies than the woes of men who feel entitled to use women’s spaces, aren’t they? So why so much attention on them? Never seen any of these idiots square that circle.

Thanks for the link, I'm getting a John Hurt in the diner vibe.

"More than 30 local election candidates were accused of spreading such venom on social media last month, leading to nearly a dozen suspensions and two arrests. Yet this, the GMG insists, is an example of persecution of “Global Majority candidates and those who support Palestinian liberation”, supporting an atmosphere that supposedly “demonises migrants and Muslims” as well as “women”.

When they finally burst out in all their slimy, vicious glory will the Pally Panderers finally see the light and be as sicken by they're useful idiot actions as I am.

Lalgarh · 24/06/2026 10:08

Doubtful. They'll double down.

Though you can see how this might mutate. Your Party had left wing activists chase out Gaza independents Adnan Hussain and Iqbal Mohammed on the grounds they are transphobic landlords. They themselves cited Islamophobia.

Most of this Global Majority ppl are not likely to do the same as many if not most are Muslim themselves. How they accommodate the LGBTQ faction when say an independent Palestine starts enacting it's socially conservative policy is anyone's guess

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 26/06/2026 19:44

Thanks for the link, it's such as gross insult to reduce a human to a body function, all to the placate gender addled women, how can they be impressed by this. I know they're fruitloops but FFS do they have no self respect or dignity at all.
I wonder if the fact that's it's man proposing this is significant, it's not them that want it, it's just an excuse for another man to control women.

lcakethereforeIam · 26/06/2026 19:52

I doubt if it's just about gender addled women. I suspect they're barely a consideration. It's about not excluding men.

How so? In what way can menstrual leave be about not excluding men.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/06/2026 21:00

The language is dehumanising and the policy would almost certainly lead to employers being less likely to employ women. Also, it gives a false impression of how difficult life is during menstruation. I had endometriosis. Day 1 of my period was often pretty bad but even when things were at their worst I didn't need three days off every month.

lcakethereforeIam · 26/06/2026 21:08

It's about using terminology about things that only happen to women; menstruation, pregnancy, even stuff that no woman wants to have like cervical cancer, without excluding men with lady feelz.

Obviously menstrual leave is something only women would be eligible for. Saying so in simple English would make men who identify as women vanish... apparently. As if it would be that easy. Even if we wanted to,

I posted this on the free birthing thread, but it's only a few years since the greens were advocating natural birth and were explicitly anti caesarian sections. Beth Rigby was still having to take Polanski to task about it earlier this year

womendeserveequalhumanrights · Yesterday 02:13

It's so bonkers only a man could have written that, it would be so terrible for women in the workplace. And to be anti-Csection at the same time which is something where women should be able to make that choice.

I mean apart from anything else how's it going to work for cash strapped schools and teachers (mainly female at Primary). They'd need a number of extra teachers at least, to cover all the absences. And what does this mean for continuity for all the SEND children who need consistent 1 to 1a when all the female TRAS (again, most of them) are having to take 3 days off every month.

I can only conclude the Green Party is filled with dimwits and misogynists. That's the only possible explanation.

womendeserveequalhumanrights · Yesterday 02:13

School budgets would mean that they could only afford to hire male teachers.

Just bonkers.

It is clear we are heading for some serious internal discord in the Greens as we discussed earlier. The argument over the anti Zionism motion combined with the attempt to stop disciplining racists is going to dominate the conference.

Mothin is up for re-election in 2027. I think he will see serious opposition and probably lose. It could get very vicious.

The argument over the existence of biology is going to be part of this especially as the court cases come in and the Greens probably lose them.

Alongside this the prospect of easy Green gains may recede with Burnham coming in. It looks like the Greens are going to get hammered in Manchester Mayoralty, despite an attempt to claim it was going to be a Reform vs Greens election.

One of the first polls for the Manchester Mayoral election, which was triggered by the resignation of Andy Burnham, shows just how much of a tight race it is between Reform and Labour.
The survey, carried out by FocalData on behalf of campaign group Hope Not Hate, put Labour on 33.2 per cent of first preference support, with Reform UK close behind on 30.1 per cent.
The Greens were third on 12.5 per cent, followed by the Conservatives on 11.1 per cent and the Liberal Democrats on 7.6 per cent.
