Grace Campbell - Alastair Campbell

If I have missed any threads already started about this then apologies.

I am literally lost for words on the post she added to her podcast along with Charlie Craggs.

My own daughter has been lost to this cause. I am hoping I get her back. How utterly vile can a young woman be - Grace Campbell - towards women who have worked so hard to give her such privilege. I might be ugly and a freak Grace with awful hair. But I am not a mean girl.

i'm a bit puzzled why this is getting so much attention
And people seem to be very upset

I've seen some clips
They didn't really say anything

I was expecting something shocking from the way people were talking

They're totally idiots yes

is it because she's Alistair Campbell's daughter that people are expecting something else

I don't like him, but he's a very intelligent man

Anyway, I don't get it. I don't get what people are upset about. I don't get their conversation to be honest. That probably just marks me out as old but they don't seem to be saying anything?

Edited

The fact that they aren’t really saying anything is what has annoyed people.

You’re right Alistair Campbell is an intelligent man, he also has a large and influential platform.

He has been very open about being influenced by Grace on this topic so it’s fairly appalling that Grace’s arguments are so dreadful.

They don’t even reach the standard of high school debating club. So why hasn’t the highly intelligent Alistair Campbell challenged them?

Presumably because he doesn’t care about the rights of 51% of the population.

PachacutisBadAuntie · 17/04/2026 23:10

Nitter for those who want to see it and a fuller version of the clips down the comments...

to be clearer
Why is this conversation between two idiots attracting so much attention online?

Because Alistair Campbell has persistently chided women for not being kind enough when it comes to this debate. He says his opinions on feminism and 'women's issues' are formed by his daughter. And she is purporting to be a feminist, while piling insults and slurs on women based on how they look, their supposed sex appeal or lack thereof.

I don’t know who alistair Campbell is, I’m not really old enough. I’ve just seen another woman really upset by online bullying dressed up as comedy and activism

@BlueLegume they're a pair of numpties, one day she'll realise that 💐

SionnachRuadh · 17/04/2026 23:14

I find it amazing that Alistair Campbell says he defers to his daughter on this issue. And that more about him than her.

Before he got this weird second act as a podcaster, this is a man who spent almost his whole career being a lying thug in the service of a Big Man - first Robert Maxwell, then Tony Blair.

I wonder if there's any other issue he would listen to a woman on, never mind defer to her.

These days, I suppose, 'podcaster'. His boss is Gary Lineker. The prick's prick.

FlippinFumin · 17/04/2026 23:18

Apart from the utter bullshit they both spout, what about the cushion? For all her whatever, Grace clearly feels uncomfortable with that man. Evolution is hardwired into women, she knows he is not safe. And she is right. Mr Campbell needs to look more closely at his daughters body language, rather than her juvenile ramblings. That would tell him how she really feels around this man.

That's another cautionary tale. If Gary Lineker had just stuck to what he was good at - reading out the football scores, laughing at Alan Shearer's terrible jokes, and advertising crisps - he still might be well thought of today.

Not sure. This was from June 2025 so a while ago.

She’s a comedian. Apparently.

How crude is this Charlie person?

Oh, I wonder why it's just being made a fuss of now

@finsberry he was a big figure politics, a strategist who got a lot of credit for reviving Labour in the 1990s

It's shocking in the sense that you expect anybody to have more intelligence than this! But I'm just wondering why it's suddenly got attention

I didn’t know what Grace Campbell looked like and at first assumed it was the person on the left but thought well, objectively speaking Grace looks a bit blokeish.

And if we’re strictly speaking about conventional appearances, neither are attractive. So, is this internalised misogyny on Grace’s part and sucking up to Charlie (never heard of this person) by using ‘looks’ as the stick to beat our modern day suffragettes. Regardless, it’s deeply playground unpleasant. And irrelevant as FWS have done such an immense service for women. Thank you.

Graces friend also explains Alastair’s and Rory’s pro TWAW stance on top of being two sexist men.

I looked him up. Don’t like him because he’s a war criminal and misogynist prick but admire his strategy. You think he’d know by now when to shut up. Clearly not given his wading in on the trans debate.

TRAs have form for abusing women based on our appearance, including racist and sexist abuse of black women. https://x.com/thewomencov/status/1453511002377670661

It's no surprise that sleb TRAs would stoop just as low.

Igmum · 18/04/2026 05:16

I thought they both sounded drunk or high. Seriously. It’s the sort of idiotic conversation I probably had at age 14 at a party after several vodkas. One that preceded declarations of being each other’s best friends. I can’t believe she’s 32.

DworkinWasRight · 18/04/2026 06:10

There’s a lot of confusion (as well as nastiness) in what Grace says, first complaining that the FWS women want to make everyone wear skirts, and then attacking one of them for wearing a trouser suit. There is no way to make any of it make sense.

There’s also the peculiar attack on them for supposedly having too much time on their hands - an accusation which, as Victoria Smith points out, has been levelled at female campaigners since the suffragettes. The reality of course is that most fit campaigning in around full-time jobs and caring for children or elderly parents.

The FWS have achieved something remarkable and wonderful for women, and very many of us enormously grateful to them. They will remembered long after their detractors are forgotten.

This. I'm reminded of first noticing Helen Joyce's Twitter account some years ago and wondering what she meant by "No, you be kind" in her bio.

GloiredeDijon · 18/04/2026 06:22

Ffs their views on women remind me of those sexist 82 year old father in law has.

Coatsoff42 · 18/04/2026 06:29

i wonder if Louis Theroux want to interview some of these people. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel.

The best thing is to let people hear what they are saying, it’s so clear that what they value in women is an attractive appearance and keeping men happy, it’s not very progressive at all and that’s gender ideology all over.

It should probably go without saying that you can’t really call yourself a feminist if you go round calling other women ugly. Grace is clearly not very bright, which is sad. Her mum always seemed quite intelligent to me.

Louis Theroux won’t do a programme on these people because like most supposedly educated men who imagine they are well informed, he doesn’t understand why sex-based rights are important.

I know she does, which is why I mentioned it. I agree her ignorance is staggering.
