Welcome one and all. Quick précis - women's pub, rodent staff, apparently we're sane.

Have some of Boily's champagne, that'll help with the disappointment. 😂

Thank you for the new thread, @Magpiecomplex , and the reminder to NC.

It’s appropriate on the day of the Epiphany for me to rest my Christmas name until next year.

Boiledbeetle · 06/01/2026 20:16

Boiledbeetle · Today 20:11

I've currently got a wonderful cheese selection in my actual fridge. You can have Stilton or Marmite Cheddar.

That's it.

Magpiecomplex · Today 20:12

Well, it'll be a hardship, but I'm willing to try living on Stilton. I like marmite, but as its own thing, not adulterating other items.

@Magpiecomplex I'm not the biggest fan of marmite flavoured cheese but it came with the marmite cheeseboard that I really really wanted. I'm sure it will taste great as cheese on toast.

Oooh!. Lovely new thread, thank you Magpie.

Just managed to hop onto the last van, but it smelled a bit odd.

Like old socks....🤔

It's Christmas Eve for Orthodox Christians, though...

I hope you left some hot water in the tank, Boily. My turn for the shower.

Owing to Boily's good news I checked my premium bonds.

I won £25!!!

I'm thinking a yacht, paying off the mortgage and buying a villa in Tenerife. Obviously a donation to the Bluestocking charity to support impoverished gerbils and treating friends and family. What shall I do with the rest?

How lovely, two winners in one day!

With your spare change @MyrtleLion, how about a nice trip on the Orient Express to Venice, including a gondola ride and dinner at the Danieli?

Don't let the gerbils know or they'll be tinselling the hell out of the place again. I've only just got the last lot out from where it got stuck in my carpace when I was drunkingly slow dancing with a Christmas tree.

Stocks in Tunnock's is a good bet I reckon.

Congratulations!

DeanElderberry · 06/01/2026 20:41

Ooo, lovely cheese.

I am trying to repopulate my gut with good bacteria after flu. My fridge has been providing me with Roquefort and Cashel Blue, and there's Stilton in waiting, but I'm sure the Bluestocking will have a range of other delicious cultures.

The kings arrived in the crib this morning with two camels and one elephant. They'll be there until Candlemas.
