Five nurses working at Darlington Memorial Hospital have filed a legal case suing their employer, an NHS trust, for sexual harassment and sex discrimination. The nurses object to sharing the women’s changing facilities with a male colleague, Rose, who identifies as female. The hearing started on October 20th, with evidence now complete. Submissions are being made on November 11th. To view the hearing online requests for access had to be made by October 17th. The hearing is being live tweeted by Tribunal Tweets who have background to this case on their substack. An alternative to X is to use Nitter: nitter.net/tribunaltweets or nitter.poast.org/tribunaltweets

The Judge made clear at the start of the public hearing on Day 1 that only TT or press have permission to tweet. If online observers see/hear something in the court that isn’t reported by TT, we don’t mention it until the next time there’s a break. This is a very cautious approach to avoid any accusations of “live reporting” on MN. Commentary on the content of TT tweets is fine as soon as they’re posted on X.

So in the BBC's latest update they have paraphrased Bethany Hutchinson's quote about forcing women to undress in front of men (which is what she said as has been reported elsewhere). The BBC say "transgender colleagues". This is misleading and sneaky because it suggests they objected to Rose because he is trans, rather than because he is male.

Sadly I can image quite a few men being only too happy to display the contents of their boxer shorts to women queuing for the ladies loos.

Kind of wish you hadn't said that because now I have the image in my head Confused

Transgender Reddit are NOT HAPPY.

One is claiming the tribunal stated "the claimants needed "to be educated on trans rights and to broaden their mindsets". Not sure where they get that from. Mind you, they're also advocating for "bigot-only changing rooms" Grin

Edited

I need to go upstairs and get my other phone that I have the Reddit app and my BlueSky account installed on 😂

Sneaky bastards.

If I were Bethany, I'd be demanding they retract that and report what I'd said accurately and truthfully, instead. As they bloody well should have done in the first place.

T/g Reddit has this comment along with the link to media:

"Sigh, I mean they were never going to side with a trans person but we all know this is one step closer to genital checks"

What is wrong with these people?

Trans ideologues are obsessed with the idea of genital checks. It’s almost like they are attempting to will them into existence.

I think it should stop men like Robin Moira White using women's facilities. Now they are harassing women because they don't have permission.

Yes. Since Rose's behaviour was not impugned by the tribunal, RMW could have no possible defence resting on impeccable behaviour. It's the mere presence of the man that constitutes harassment.

BettyBooper · 16/01/2026 12:24

From the Telegraph -

She added: “Women deserve access to single-sex spaces without fear or intimidation. Forcing us to undress in front of a man was not only degrading but dangerous.'

From the BBC

She says women deserve access to single-sex spaces "without fear or intimidation" and "forcing" them to undress in front of transgender colleagues is "not only degrading but dangerous"

As we’re talking about motivation, I wonder if RMW and other older TWs don’t like using the men’s facilities because of responses from other men falling into weirdo/perv/whatever/mocking categories. Whereas responses from women fall into fearful/indifferent/fawning categories?

Possibly too sweeping, but whether they fear the rejection in the one whilst feeling powerful in the woman’s.

When is one of these employers who paid for illegal Stonewall “advice” going to sue them??

Probably why Stonewall is getting its ‘Oh no, we’re broke’ narrative in early.

Well, that and it being crap.

If the “bigot” changing room guarantees me a single sex, women only facility to undress in I’m in.

Thank you for the quotes – it is absolutely clear from this how different reporting can sound by changing one or two words and putting quote marks around particular phrases

Another quote from the sad TRAs on Reddit: "Remember, Labour could end all this nonsense with the inclusion of one extra line in the equality act.. and no-one would know!!

"I will never vote Labour again."

Nobody would know if they changed the Equality Act. These are not serious people.

They've done sneaky quotes around bits they've cherry picked to suit their narrative, so she can't accuse them of directly misquoting her. Yet they are misquoting her, because they have materially changed the meaning of what she said to deliberately mislead readers about her.

Cosyfriendship · 16/01/2026 12:29

The Independent on line quotes that the remarks to the nurses about educating themselves added to the harassment making it worse.
The Hospital Trust is at fault for not taking the complaint seriously.

They've learned a lot from Kemp in selective quotations.....

They just can't help themselves!

To a Believer though, Rose is not a man, and is just a woman who is a trans kind of woman, and therefore being rejected by the other ducklings women on the grounds of their trans characteristic.

To a non believer, Rose is just a man.

BBC framing this as "partial victory" now 🙄 Anything to play it down.
