A demonstration organised by the campaign group Let Women Speak (LWS) took place today at Bonn Square. Around 100 counterprotestors also assembled, including members from the Oxford Green Party, Stand Up to Racism, and Oxford for Trans Rights (O4TR).

The idea that women shouldn't be buulied by their dads and husbands into hiding their faces and avoiding living a full life is not "anti-muslim". It is pro muslim and anti islamist

Quite.

And I can’t find evidence of this ‘inner circle’ claim. As I described upthread, as far as I can see, he was videoing in a restaurant of about 40/50 people and panned round and said hello to her (actually “Awright darling”) and she said hello back. A minor point also but she was wearing a Union Jack scarf (or possibly a flag tied stylishly as a scarf) - not ‘wearing it round her shoulders’ as claimed which creates a whole different impression.

He labelled the video ‘the A team’ and didn’t tag her in it. I’m ready to be proved wrong if anyone has evidence to the contrary but it didn’t happen in the way it is being presented.

If you feel like you've somehow found me out, fill your boots.
We're all entitled to opinions, you don't convey yours, you just criticise other people's and tell them off for swearing.
I know what I meant and so do a few others on the thread. T'ra love, I don't see any point in continuing to engage. Whatever I say you'll try and say I had hidden meanings.

Any particular reason you keep calling posters 'love' in that manner?
Saying you're a northerner and that's how we speak up north won't wash.

Eh? Where did I tell you off for swearing??

What have I ‘found you out’ for? I’ve no idea what you are talking about now.

Funnily enough I have conveyed a few opinions on this thread. You might have missed them.

The north of England has more people than Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland combined. We don't all speak the same way.

ParmaVioletTea · 20/10/2025 17:19

Thank you @ILikeDungs and @SidewaysOtter for your presence there & telling us about it here. I watched the first of the videos (I think there are 3) and it looks like a really intimidating crowd.

I don't agree with all that KJK says or does, but I really admire her fearlessness and her kindness. The way she encourages the speakers is really lovely to see. And she has even given the mic to people who disagree with her.

That still didn't answer my question . Love' is used in a friendly manner. And used in a sneery sarcastic manner. Your interactions suggest the latter. Just like the other poster on here that says 'dear' several times per post
Listen love, T'ra Love.

🙄 At least be honest

FFS honest about what?
Does it even fecking matter. Is this the "let's pick holes in pointless things" thread.
Shall I use a completely non sarcastic "Goodbye".
I hope that's acceptable for you.

Absolutely astonishing to me to see someone, on a feminist board of all places, patronise and sneer at a woman by repeatedly addressing her as 'love', especially on a day when Farage is rightly getting in the neck for saying 'listen, love' to Mishal Husain. 'Does it even fecking matter'? Yes, it really fecking does.

There are reasons why the poster might use that term in that way on a feminist board. Being here in good faith to share opinions isn't the first one that comes to mind though.

Maybe the poor lamb was triggered by the idea of letting women not only speak but have opinions they didn't approve of?

This is hilarious. My initial post was sharing my opinion. Then I was subjected to a barrage of picky comments from one other person. This person didn't give their opinion at all.
Pardon me for sticking up for myself. They also seem to have done the same to other contributors. Good faith didn't come into it

Thanks for giving me the final tick on my activist bingo card. It's been very educational seeing you at work and I've learned a lot.

You appear to be referring to me. You call it a ‘barrage of picky comments’, I say it was calling out your unnecessarily nasty and unevidenced claim that ‘flag shaggers ‘ were at LWS.

You pretended that you hadn’t said that and then doubled down with the dishonesty including saying that I supported Tommy Robinson. Then you started calling me ‘love’. You seem to have a short memory for what you are writing - it’s only one page back.

I have expressed several opinions in this thread. One of which is that I dislike dishonest smearing of KJK and LWS.

So more accusations! Are you referring to my conversation with Cowley Road where she tried to imply that KJK was extremely rude to a ‘lovely’ community imam for no apparent reason other than being anti Muslim? She also falsely accused KJK of being racist to him.

Totally omitting the fact that not only did he turn up to join the men violently protesting LWS, but participated in the abuse by playing conductor to their yelling.

Funnily enough that was another opinion that I expressed about the use of dishonesty to smear KJK and LWS.

I'm starting to get the hang of this now. Deadpan is allowed to 'defend' themselves. We lesser mortals are not. Deadpan can use language such as 'love' because that is how they talk to women and we lesser mortals have, apparently, to put up with it.

I wonder which side of the road Deadpan would have been on had they demonstrated?

Another tick. When in doubt, go for the ad hominem attack. You've already gone for the 'I am entitled to defend myself one.'

It's been an interesting thread, but I'm tired of playing your little games. On a site like Mumsnet it seems entirely appropriate to say 'it isn't big, and it isn't clever'.

GreenFriedTomato · 21/10/2025 06:30

I can't take anyone seriously that uses the term 'flag shaggers'. Besides the fact that it's only used to mock those who display the union/George's cross etc, and never the thousands flooding the streets with progress/trans/Palestinian flags - it's on a level with petty insults such as gammon/snowflake/libtard and so on
What does it even mean? Is it supposed to imply that people masturbate with the flags or what? It's so immature and unpleasant.

Edit sp.

MouldyPeppers · 21/10/2025 07:29

I assume this was a rhetorical question as there isn’t any doubt.

deadpan · 21/10/2025 07:33

@Easytoconfuse No idea at all why you seem to think I'm a Tra. I'm a Terf. Feel free to believe what you want but I fully support JKR, Helen Joyce, Sall Grover etc. I've had lots of interesting exchanges on here, but the approach of the person who interacted with me was odd and found less.

deadpan · 21/10/2025 07:41

@GreenFriedTomatoTRA's waving their flags, wearing masks and shouting women down are just as bad as the ones waving George crosses and union jacks wanging on about protecting women and girls, when all they really care about is whether the blokes attacking them are brown.

deadpan · 21/10/2025 07:43

@MouldyPeppers Perhaps if any of you had asked me that straight forward question after you'd read my initial post you'd have found out.

Do you call the TRA's 'flag shaggers' too then? I've only seen you to use that term when refering to men holding the union flag at the raise the colours rally and LWS events
