Thank you Boily, thank you Wombat.

Lovely cheese.

Thank you Boily, thank you Wombat.

Lovely cheese.

I think giant wombat was hoping for a small slice.

Such a shame that's she's lactose intolerant!

It isn't intolerance as much as the non-corporeal thing, but I managed to source her some non-corporeal cheese and she seems quite pleased with that.

I didn't realise I'd imported gerbils into the Bluestocking. Who originated them in the Aston thread?

I'm surprised that capybara were canonically here before the gerbils. Goats and quokkas beat both of them!

MarieDeGournay · 27/09/2025 11:03

There's a platoon of wombats heading to your house, Deano, to prevent any further lab invasions; they will form a cordon sanitaire around your cheese board.
Thank you for the new thread, Android.
Poor Boily💔 - ne'mind, there are other fish in the sea, or something..

Ah, the sea, that reminds me:
Swashy - we're moving again, pop in to the new place when you feel like it💙

edited to add that the picture of the wombats was there. And then it wasn't.
I may not be able to find it again before the end of this thread 😟

Unloved, uncared for, unwanted.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Oh, dear, lovely Boily.
That’s not true, and the gerbils will be round shortly to convince you of that. If they can find you.

BTW, some cheese has low levels of lactose. Giant wombat can have some of the aged cheddar in the photo @DeanElderberry, as well as the non-corporeal cheese you so carefully provided.

MarieDeGournay · 27/09/2025 11:10

.Found it! Here's Deano's Wombat Anti-Lab Cheese Protection Patrol😁

Good old Wombat, organising the capybaras. They can have some fruit - bet they'd enjoy some apples, raspberries and blackberries from the garden.

Boiledbeetle · 27/09/2025 11:22

Tis a good day for fishing

I'm just transporting the contents of the lab over to the new thread. I may be some time.

Good to see they've got their hi-vis on. Marie's not going to like that apostrophe though.

It's a smudge of something, not an apostrophe.

At least that what Glenda said. It's only on one though so it's probably an older removal van.

Maud isn't actually that much bigger than the other gerbils, but they look up to her and so to them she is huge!!

She had other plans for today but felt she had to step in if we were to ever get a drink on the new thread

Shouldn't that be LET GERBILS SQUEAK?

lcakethereforeIam · 27/09/2025 14:47

I've just learned the poet Tony Harrison has died. Perhaps I'm misremembering but @Boiledbeetle I believe you were a fanFlowers Myself, I'm not the greatest poetry fan, but I just read his poem 'V'. I can see why Mary Whitehouse had conniptions. He wrote an epitaph at the end

Beneath your feet's a poet, then a pit.
Poetry supporter, if you're here to find
How poems can grow from (beat you to it!) SHIT
find the beef, the beer, the bread, then look behind.

But he'd lived a lot of life since then.

MyrtleLion · 27/09/2025 15:19

An unfinished thread!

Where is everyone?

MyrtleLion · 27/09/2025 15:21

I have things to share but you've started on the other thread already!

They'll have to wait.

MyrtleLion · 27/09/2025 15:22

Though my best friend sent me a voice note.to.say she's going to be a grandmother again. Earlier than planned.

But it's very exciting!

Her grandson is three and I still haven't met him.

MyrtleLion · 27/09/2025 15:22

Or his mother, my friend's daughter.

MyrtleLion · 27/09/2025 15:24

We lost touch when we were six when her dad got a new job. We'd known each other since we were eight months old.

She was my sister who lived over the road.

MyrtleLion · 27/09/2025 15:25

I found her again on LinkedIn.

And it's like we were never apart. We both felt as though something precious we'd lost had been found again. Decades later.

I'll accept the smudge explanation, and it IS only on one van, so you can all relaxGrin
