Dont forget the tomatoes

Britinme · 26/09/2025 21:46

I'm sure Shakespeare would have written a play based around the confusion in the above two posts.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 26/09/2025 21:49

You're right about the tomatoes! I'd forgotten.

I rushed off to room 254, only to find that Gemini AI doesn't know which side of a hotel room door has the number on - even when I told it several times. It then whiny-mansplained me in great detail about how it can't know which side any particular door opens on, & while it claimed to know the numbers go on the corridor side, it never managed to actually show that in an image. It got it wrong every single time.

So there was going to be a joke about me getting the number wrong, but you know what, Gemini? Forget it. You've ruined it.

Edited

Gemini may not be able to number rooms correctly, but the gerbil guides know which is which.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 26/09/2025 21:56

It's too late now. The mood has gone. Will someone send a gerbil to tell Boily to take the costume off & get out of the hoist, please?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 26/09/2025 22:12

Probably not in that order, though.

Right, ladies of all species, here...

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5417697-the-bluestocking-where-maud-reigns-supreme

is the next thread. Please gather your belongings & form an orderly queue at the front door. Do we have a volunteer to find Boily's Tunnocks stashes for her?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 26/09/2025 22:14

Oops, I forgot about Colin.

It’s ok, I’ll bring him.

Am I missing something? Why are we suddenly starting new threads after ten pages rather than 20?

Gerbil origin...

AlisonDonut · 25/04/2024 09:58

I don't want to get into Foucault either, but isn't the problem that the people that attack FWR are completely Foucault Addled Grievance Gerbils and the women on FWR are 'ahem, no amount of Foucaultian gymnastics can ever make a male into a female because that, Sir, is reality'?

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5060410-thread-2-a-corpus-assisted-discourse-analysis-of-linguistic-transphobia-on-mumsnet?reply=134794342&utm_campaign=reply&utm_medium=share

This led to songs and t shirts which led to the Grimbut T shirt factory.

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5068974-aston-university-gerbil-merch-thread

So the gerbils were already employed at the factory and then started doing shifts at the pub.

Thank you for clearing that up, Boily - isn' it* a coincidence that I mentioned AlisonDonut *just the other day when I was thinking about Stockingers we hadn't heard from for a while?
The other one was Inkymoose - anybody seen her on other threads?
I'm not cyberstalking honest, I just like to know people are OK when they are absent from the Bluestocking for a while.Smile

Weren't the gerbils and their idiosyncratic spelling used as a speedbump to stop Aston Uni scraping our data? We also used different languages at one point, I remember.
That's what made me think of the gerbils as heroic activists defending the privacy of our dataGrin
I miss their idiosyncratic spelling😞

ErrolTheDragon · 26/09/2025 22:34

The phrase ‘Foucaultian gymnastics’ makes me think the gerbils are swinging on a ruddy great big pendulum.

Nah. They're just being gerbils. They accept that the big female humans need hot chocolate, cake, bacon, tea, wine, gin, etc. without wasting any time on wondering why.

All the performances are for their own entertainment and they are quietly amused that we think that they are doing it for us

DeanElderberry · 27/09/2025 08:04

And fruit.

Magpiecomplex · 27/09/2025 09:47

Morning Dean. You have to share the cheese, remember.
I'm off out to spend frivolously today, so I'll let you all sort out shutting down this thread without me. Don't forget the labs!

I am happy to share the lots of cheese, but won't feed it to labs because it might upset their tummies.

Oh. Different labs?

DeanElderberry · 27/09/2025 10:06

They don't live here, they sneaked in the back door, they can jolly well go back where they came for and THEY CAN'T HAVE MY CHEESE.

Wombat, please come and scare the labs away.

DeanElderberry · 27/09/2025 10:07

Bloody hell, they're drooling.
