<whistles whilst polishing the brass and pours myself a pint of cider>

I’m settling in by the fire too. With a cheese and cheddar piccalilli sandwich (yours, if you don’t mind, Banned) and a pot of this single malt Marmite to dab on it .

Magpiecomplex · 13/09/2025 20:51

What happened? I was just thinking about getting out of my hot chocolate bath and felt a disturbance in the force.
Things look ever so slightly different. Hmmm...

It was touch and go! The end of the last thread came round so fast I had to use an old gone to next thread image!

It was certainly sleek and seamless. None of the usual panic and rushed packing. We must be getting good at it.

You say that now. Has anyone seen the gerbils yet?

Boiledbeetle · 13/09/2025 20:56

The image that should have been used has finally finished being created by Co Pilot who is on a ridiculous go slow today.

The light was left on, which is probably for the best as I fear half the pub and staff got locked in! But the important stuff got out in time.

Everything has been transmogrified on to the new thread.

I do enjoy a banana, but I've never yet had the nerve to try and make an Elvis sandwich. Sometimes I think about it, and then I think about my doctor deploying the Big Waggy Finger.

I've left the fire exit open so the gerbils and the capybaras can finish the move overnight

That's a big word for a Saturday night!

Bannedontherun · 13/09/2025 20:58

Big saggy finger sandwich comes to mind

Bannedontherun · 13/09/2025 20:59

I meant saggy but i guess saggy does the job

Bannedontherun · 13/09/2025 20:59

WAGGY

ErrolTheDragon · 13/09/2025 20:59

Oh hello! I went out for a while to watch the last episode of this series of Foundation and find myself back here.
Has android developed a jump drive or something?

It is amazing on cheese on toast. I swirl a bit in as the cheese starts to melt instead of Worcestershire sauce.

Won’t the gerbils just feel the disturbance in the force that brought Magpie here?
I do hope so.
They may be a little baffled by landing here, but would that be out of the ordinary?

DeanElderberry · 13/09/2025 21:02

My problem with the Elvis sandwich is the peanut butter, that I don't get on with. In happier news, a friend gave me two jars of home-made apple jelly after Mass, so I'll be having drop scones with that and lots of butter some time very soon.

Swashbuckled · 13/09/2025 21:02

Yes, I too have swirled Marmite into melting cheese. (Nods sagely)

Swashbuckled · 13/09/2025 21:04

You’ve shown great restraint in waiting this long, Deano. Unless it was a Saturday night Mass, of course. In which case you might well have sprinted home to grab the butter knife…

Is it crab apple jelly?

The gerbils are working already.

They are so organised.

It was indeed Saturday night Mass, and I had left my chickpea and feta dinner ready to reheat (and it was indeed very nice with a salad and a glass of red). But tomorrow is another day.

yes indeed

Swashbuckled · 13/09/2025 21:07

Oh, don’t we look wholesome with our piping hot mugs.

The gerbils are bang on with the snacks tonight.
