Graham Linehan arrested on arrival at Heathrow Part 3

These threads are currently being used to follow the case that is taking place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, but will also be following the subsequent fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case earlier this week.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Sometimes when I'm back home I like to read the court cases in the Newtownards Chronicle, where Judge Mark Hamill (yes, really) has a fine line in telling miscreants to wise a bap and catch themselves on.

Judge Hamill has built up a bit of a local cult following on that basis. Maybe some of the English judiciary could follow his lead.

IMO, and IANAL but studied Law at university, the harassment falls because of SB’s conduct and the criminal damage falls on two counts, one loss of value for a four year old phone, and two lack of proof that GL’s actions caused the damage.

A lot of money spent for no good reason.

No, I really don't think so.

I think even if Glinner loses on what he's been accused of, it'll still be a win for what it exposes elsewhere that, for some reason, never resulted in any police or legal action. Obviously the Beeb and Guardian will not report it fairly, to the delight of assorted idiots, but it will all get out via the other reports and I do think people have generally had enough. Glinner's arrest peaked a lot of people who couldn't care less about women's rights and safety but care very much about their own when it comes to free expression.

Yes, and also the 'live and let live' crowd who aren't particularly engaged with or aware of the issues but think it's nasty women being mean to gentle souls who just want to go quietly about their daily lives presenting as ladies.

I ended up talking about the subject at the pub with a complete random this week...

I've been given a link to the footage that is apparently being viewed in court - it is publicly available so I'm sharing it. I don't KNOW for certain this is what the court is viewing or whether the footage itself is legit or relevant. Treat accordingly
