These threads are currently being used to follow the case that is taking place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, but will also be following the subsequent fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case earlier this week.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. Currently reached 93% of its target.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court.

Right, can anyone recommend a good Podcast to assist me in getting ALL the things I need to do super speedily? 🙏

Maybe that video was also submitted with the intention that the press would report on it, even if it ends up being inadmissible for this particular trial.

Definitely this.

That's a clip that had been lost in the great ocean of social media and has now resurfaced. If it can't be used in court it will still be shared far and wide.

That’s not good if the judge thinks there’s a case to be answered. Agree with her about the video.

It's a while since I did criminal law but the pros can I think appeal kicking out at half time but can't an acquittal at the end. Might be different in the Mags I suppose.

It may be as well.
if she’d dismissed, it’s a pound to a gooseberry that the transactivists would have howled bias.
And the defence witnesses may shed more light - we’ve only had the prosecution case so far haven’t we?!

Sometimes when I'm back home I like to read the court cases in the Newtownards Chronicle, where Judge Mark Hamill (yes, really) has a fine line in telling miscreants to wise a bap and catch themselves on.

Judge Hamill has built up a bit of a local cult following on that basis. Maybe some of the English judiciary could follow his lead.

There was a judge like him in Cork. Patwell. He came down hard on violent crime but had little patience for frivolous complaints. He dismissed a case against a woman for begging. Told the guards they had better things to be doing.

Apologies - I haven't read this entire thread yet, but am I the only one a bit surprised that a 17/18 year old has a 4 year old phone, especially if that individual is studying computer science or something techy (if that bit is so)?

It sound like a spare phone to me, which is a bit irrelevant as it'd still be Brooks's property and could be damaged or not. But it sounds like part of a plan to take the old phone in case of a confrontation.

It is standard Oxford the defence to ask for the case to be dismissed immediately after the prosecution.

It is rare for this to be granted.

Judges may believe at this point that there is no case to answer, but for transparency, and sometimes interest in how it will be defended, they want the whole case heard.

I would have been very surprised if the judge had granted the dismissal.

Also it is better for GL to put his version across and be cross examined by the prosecution, so we hear their reasons why they believe he’s guilty. More sunlight.

Thanks for the new thread. I'm so glad I'm not at work today and can follow this, it's fascinating. And just weird, are we living in a simulation or parallel universe?!

Nope.

We didn't fall down the rabbit hole and drink a substance that we assumed was just fine on the basis of it not saying 'poison' on the label.

Nope. The same one as everyone else, where men aren't women, women don't have dicks, and knowing these facts is not a far right political belief.

The video of Fred and Tarquin getting kid glove treatment from the police is for the Press benefit I suspect

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 13:59

[From 35 minutes ago]

Just to be clear - the next day will not be at least until October, which likely means @ Glinner will have to fly back from the US for the hearing to attend court for closing after which judgment MIGHT be reserved. Will check this.

... meander and then stop half way through proceedings...

If you are finding this tweet thread useful (not the stuff about my lunch, obvs, but the court-reporting), please consider a small donation so I can buy my own food and cover my costs. But only if you can afford it. This is the link to my tip jar: https://store29806256.company.site ...

I'll put you on my mailing list and be very grateful. Unless I already have something already booked I'm happy to commit now to attending the third day of this trial (assuming it will happen in October) and any separate handing down of the verdict.

My 18 year old has his dad’s old phone so probably older than 4 years.

So this man has been harassing PP for years. Why no prosecution?

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 14:15

I forgot to say - I do run a blog on gender - it's not exactly teeming with content and has had to take a back seat whilst I focus on my PO book, but I'm hoping to crank it up as soon as I get that done.

If you want to have a look at genderblog it's here - all comments welcome. The posts on neovaginas and neophalluses I think are eye-opening!

This was intended eventually to be funded in the same way I fund the PO blog - through crowdfunding so any excess from your generosity today will go into a pot allowing me to work on content and IT costs of the platform - speaking of which...

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 14:15

It's a mystery.

Needs more people to moan to police about these things to make it happen.

You now know the template of how to get police action thanks to LW.

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 14:18

[GL invited to sit by J]
DC how old are you
GL 57
DC you live in Arizona
GL yes
DC how long?
GL six months something like that
