These threads are currently being used to follow the case that is taking place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, but will also be following the subsequent fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case earlier this week.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

It's difficult to believe.

The number of people involved in trying to nail something on Graham Linehan, right down to a disgraced ex copper who seems to have massive leverage in the Met.

I hope the papers shout this from the rooftops. Along with photos, quotes, and asking the police what the fuck they were doing reopening a case on the basis of a call from a sacked cop.

Lynsay Watson specialises in judicial appeals. Spurts them round all over the place. That's the threat that got this case moving again.

But that's so bad. You shouldn't be able to intimidate the police into reopening a case they think is not criminal!

My phone is 7 years old and I often knock it off the coffee table onto a hard floor, no damage whatsoever.

But I too think the verdict will be split. The harassment is sort of the most important one to be cleared of.

But ideally the Judge will at a minimum scold Tarquin for his behaviour.

Having a hot line to the cops, offering to help draft another individuals witness statement? Hardly smacks of a group so marginalised, so oppressed that they can hardly leave their homes!

... on the judge's return. Judge duly came back at 12.15pm and SV told the judge she had received some potentially relevant video footage from a non-legal but trusted source, which may need to be examined before any ruling on the application to strike out the case.

There was a bit of chit chat as it's not completely clear what the footage shows, so what the judge has ordered is that the court is completely cleared of all but non-lawyers whilst they view the footage and decide whether it does show what it purports to show.

That intervention by LW with the policeman was astonishing, I mean that stuff about gl being able to raise 100k on a whim by crowdfunding (unlikely) and the whole tone that financially damaging GCs was a good thing that the police guy should be totally onside with.

Thinking about what SionnachRuadh mentioned on the last thread about how it's something of an Irish thing to be unvarnished as Glinner is.

Means that he's at least partly being targeted because of his cultural background and his personality that's shaped by this. Being a bluntly outspoken Irishman who doesn't adhere to British middle-class conventions of politeness and restraint in his mannerisms is much of the reason why he's ended up hauled before a court on trumped-up harassment charges.

I think this new footage may be very bad news for Tarquin.

Who was the old Father that would shout 'Feck, Women,Drink!.' ? It's very reminiscent of that.
