IDareSay · 05/09/2025 11:51

These threads are currently being used to follow the case that is taking place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, but will also be following the subsequent fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case earlier this week.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. Currently reached 93% of its target.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court.

To add to their woes, the Met have had a horrible day today dealing with the Palestine Action protest. Whatever the merits of proscribing Palestine Action as a terrorist group under the Terrorism Act 2000 might have been, the government must be wondering whether they'll be facing the humiliating prospect of a U-turn.

That's why I asked. If he was outside of the jurisdiction of the UK on the days he made the tweets that wouldn't necessarily work as a defence but I've been catching up on how this is going down in the US, where it's really caught fire, and in terms of the optics that would make things even more intense.

Meanwhile, the UK government is otherwise occupied.

Just on the US view, here's Megyn Kelly talking about it.

This clip was referenced earlier in the thread, but I think it's worth repeating. They really think UK and EU have been radicalised.

That Megyn Kelly discussion was one of the reasons I came to the thread just earlier. This is a massive story in the part of the US media that feeds in to Trump and Vance. This might die down. Or it might lead to unexpected outcomes originating in the US. I wonder whether Yvette Cooper has a plan...

SinnerBoy · 06/09/2025 20:19

The Blue Haired Mob and Central Trans Cabal sounds like the worst band name ever.

Charabanc · 06/09/2025 18:57

The good thing is that there is now an appetite for this sort of investigation. Previously, if Nick Wallis had attempted to go down the rabbit hole/write an article, no editor would have touched it for fear of the blue haired mob and the central trans cabal.

So much sunshine has been shed, that it is now safe to shed some more.

My God I really hope so. This has been ignored by so many ( not all ) journalists for YEARS. Same as the scandal with WPATH. I've watched Free Speech Nation on GB News on Sunday night for a long time as it was the ONLY news media that would give a voice to gender critical feminists. Unfortunately you mention GB News to most pp and they don't want to know, so it's almost impossible to get pp to watch it, but in a fair, world, what they've uncovered and reported on, would have been all over the mainstream media, especially as they all love clickbait these days.

I'd love to know what you mean about a plan, but unfortunately I'm a little lost!

(Just been reading about the Palestine Action protests and my brain is a little fried by the intricacies and ironies)

A lot of clicks have been generated.

Women read books.

Theres a market. This week has demonstrated it.

Its so jaw dropping in places, it has all the factors to make it run:

scandal, corruption, a thrilling narrative, an unlikely hero, an ongoing storyline, drama, plenty of masked baddies

Will make a good movie in time.

I just mean that this is tapping deep into the politics raging in the US at the moment, and actually looks like an example of what Vance was warning about in his speech to European leaders at the Munich Security Conference 6 months back. It's an unpredictable situation and I'd expect the Foreign Secretary would be working on what might happen in the US and what responses there might be from the UK.

Theres the new PR guy at No10. A new Home Secretary. And a desire to stop the slow motion trainwreck in opinon polls.

Timing is very right for there to be a significant change in direction on this - this isn't going down as a right wing thing with the public. Its not going down as an anti-trans thing. Nor even a pro-woman thing. Its going down a police corruption thing and a weakness of the PM thing.

The sheer bonkersness of it, is blowing minds.

Think I'm going to have to delve back into the Farms. For all of the posts which are unpalatable to some people, Jersh has been absolutely clear on free speech and receipts. I wonder if Uncle Tony's mega thread is still going.....

Well , in fairness to the UK - I flew to Heathrow a couple of weeks ago and nobody checked my mobile phone for Tweets or FB posts attacking Starmer. Or supporting Palestine. Nobody has tried to deport my British based relatives for wrong think or having a dodgy tattoo.

I fully support Glinner and JKR but I'm not sure we need advice from Magaland on this side of the Atlantic just yet.

Farage was of course raising it at his hearing in Congress the other day - Americans are really scratching their heads, not only about Glinner being arrested for tweets, but about the fact that he's an Irish citizen living in the US and that makes no difference to the UK state.

It's the kind of thing that could provoke Trump to phone Starmer in the middle of the night and ask him what the hell is going on.

Ah ok. Yes this makes sense, thanks!

Shabana Mahmood has one job in government, which is to stop people talking about Two Tier Keir.

I would not be surprised if giving the police a bollocking will be high on her agenda.

Rightsraptor · 06/09/2025 21:14

Piecing bits of the story together makes me Graham L was not in the UK on those April dates. Could be wrong, of course.

But it's quite possible intervention from Magaland will finally be the thing that tips the UK government into acknowledging there's a problem.

I hear you.

However, enough is happening with institutional organisations captured that alarms should be sounding everywhere.

I suspect you may be right, money talks and the UK needs USA money.

nauticant · 06/09/2025 21:23

Maybe the time is coming when those in power will realise that it's more helpful to deal with the world as it is rather than the one they wish was in place. And that perhaps this would get the population more usefully engaged in their own lives.

Britinme · 06/09/2025 22:00

One of the big difficulties in dealing with this whole subject is the way that GC views have been harnessed by TRAs with right wing politics, to the extent that many people are convinced that if you are GC you must have voted for Trump (I didn't and wouldn't). If only some GC Democrats would develop a spine!

SionnachRuadh · 06/09/2025 22:10

Wasn't there a Congressman in Connecticut or somewhere who tentatively said something about women's sports, was shouted down and disappeared?

It's probably going to take someone like Newsom or Rahm Emanuel, who (a) want to appeal to normie voters and (b) can't be bullied because they're the bullies.

Talkinpeace · 06/09/2025 22:16

In the UK Gender Politics are not aligned with party politics
(the wonderful Baroness is to the right of the anti abortion wing of the Tory Party)

In the USA it strict party whip all the way down.

US politics is not something the UK should be trying to emulate at the moment.

Glinner is very angry with people in the UK
Wait till he meets some of Newsom's mates .....

I think the key to tackling this is to focus on the fact that the Met (Metropolitan Police) appears to be equally as happy arresting Disabled Pensioners For Palestine as they are arresting persons who are not keen on TRA GI ideology.

I’d like to see Shabana Mahmood face off Mark Rowley. Because someone needs to.

In my book you don’t get paid his salary and get a knighthood for blaming the government for your own failures of leadership, judgement and values.

Remember how SB and Hayden et al had sat themselves in the well of court and had to be moved to the public gallery? Bet that was to attempt to goad Glinner up close.

Edited

I mentioned this kerfluffle upthread. I don't disbelieve KJK (whose work I admire), but her account has me scratching my head.

I saw SB & blonde mate pulling faces and conferring throughout, but any chatting must have been practically sotto voce. It was quiet in the gallery, a smallish room, and I was close enough to KJK that I'm surprised I didn't hear any of that. Bad acoustics I guess.
