These threads are currently being used to follow the case that is taking place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, but will also be following the subsequent fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case earlier this week.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

You can support his Substack here

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. Currently reached 93% of its target.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court.
You can support Nick here (posted this morning Friday 5th September):

"I am deeply grateful to everyone who has seen fit to bung me the cost of a coffee, a pint or even a bloody London pint since I found out I was able to come back today. If you think you can afford to make a small donation, there’s more info here:"

My last post is a little confusing. It refers to this tweet (as soon as the image makes it through security)...

Think I'm going to have to delve back into the Farms. For all of the posts which are unpalatable to some people, Jersh has been absolutely clear on free speech and receipts. I wonder if Uncle Tony's mega thread is still going.....

I was thinking the same!

bonfireoftheverities · 06/09/2025 22:51

Re: the Farms, almost total freedom of speech is addictive.

nauticant · 06/09/2025 22:58

I used to think they advocating free speech was a pose. Then I saw what benefits restricting free speech gave to genderists being able to shut down any scrutiny into their activities. That woke me up so sharply I doubt I'll ever underestimate the value of free speech again.

Oh, it was mad stuff. The very condensed version: He was first fingered for plagiarising some quotes in his high profile interviews. Then people started digging into his feature writing and finding parts that looked suspiciously like he'd invented them from whole cloth.

And then it turned out he'd been sitting up all night, no doubt highly stimulated, editing Wikipedia under a huge variety of sockpuppet identities, using it to attack people he didn't like and promote his friends. It convulsed Wiki for months until the big bosses there decided to draw a line, sweep it under the carpet and pretend their totally rigorous new rules would prevent anyone ever gaming the system again.

Also there was a weird episode where one of Hari's sockpuppet emails was linked to a piece of very dodgy creative writing, and by dodgy I mean gay racist underage incest porn.

The Independent suspended him and then quietly shuffled him out. He's still out there writing, and puts out a book every couple of years (he had a lot of friends in media, and I suspect they got him a sweetheart publishing deal) but I don't think any newspaper will ever employ him again.

The Indy took advantage of Hari's departure to give columns to two of his proteges, Owen Jones and Laurie Penny.

I remember this article from Johann Hari at the time in the Guardian. It was so far beyond my understanding of many things.

Since then I think he was seeing what he could get away with, and potentially trying to get incest porn into the mainstream.

Trigger warning for incest. I don't think the incidennin the article ever happened.

I really need to reappraise my thinking that this shit arrived, conveniently, about a decade ago.

The groundwork was being laid for decades before that.

I don't believe anything in that article is real.

Obviously incest happens, and I think it's more common than people realise, but that article is pure Penthouse Letters fantasy.

Maria MacLachlan has posted the video she submitted as evidence. It's hard to watch but in answer to the question someone asked about why engage with these lunatics, there is no point unless you film and if you film the consequences for them can be their undoing. She posted that she was asked to attend to testify in GL's defence but once the court saw the video they released her because the video stands on its own merits. https://x.com/MPMacLachlan/status/1964362222219436426

So what is the technique to use when faced with idiots of this genus?

Like a naughy pet, water pistol?

SlackJawedDisbeliefXY · 07/09/2025 00:39

Airhorn?

Fucking hell, I remember him being disgraced, but what a creepy little shit. I started skim reading because my skin was crawling.

She is so brave. MM is who I want to be when I grow up.

whoosit · 07/09/2025 01:20

I'm not sure about all the details of this bit the fact my ex husband scratched the word slut into the bonnet of my car, attacked me and threatened to kill me in front of my children before attacking me again then got just a talking to by the police and no serious repercussions is disgusting in light of this. What about actual violence and credible threats to women? What is going on?

moto748e · 07/09/2025 01:46

Jeez, Johann Hari is a name from the past! In my memory, he was more or less a work-experience kid at the Guardian (I'm sure they didn't call it that). I never understood why they gave him so much credence, but there you go.

.
Two men gleefully trying to bully a woman and accuse her of instigating her own abuse. Knowing that the man in question was convicted of her battery.

Then gloating, goading and asking a victim of assault why she's trembling while you blame her for her own assault.

It certainly does stand on its own merits.

As always, i'd love to be a fly on the wall behind the scenes in that courtroom.

Appalonia · 07/09/2025 07:34

I hope the barrister in her summing up points out that the abuse and harassment that Graham has been suffering for years has got so bad that he's been actually FORCED TO LEAVE THIS COUNTRY. That's a bit more than the ' alarmed and distressed' that SB kept parroting in his evidence!

Looks like the police won’t be following up on some posters’ reports. Sad times.

Appalonia · 07/09/2025 08:39

Oh it's so lovely seeing all the messages of support for him on X!😁

ThePoshUns · 07/09/2025 08:39

I should think so as well. His bail conditions were completely OTT.

Shedmistress · 07/09/2025 08:46

I do wonder if the UK Police are aware that Elon has offered to pay and support any person accused of wrong think on his platform? I am not sure Starmer has the ability to go up against that.
