These threads are currently being used to follow the case that is taking place at Westminster Magistrate's Court over the 4th and 5th September, but will also be following the subsequent fallout of Graham's arrest at Heathrow on his return to the UK for this court case earlier this week.

He is currently on trial for alleged harassment of a trans identified male and criminal damage to the man's phone. The charges stem from a series of events in October 2024 at Battle of Ideas.

Free Speech Union are running a fundraiser to support a claim against the Met in reference to the Heathrow arrest. Just search FSU and Graham Linehan fundraiser and it should be easy to find. Currently reached 93% of its target.

Most of the mainstream media have reported on the case, but none have covered it as well as Nick Wallis. Follow him on X for live posting from the court.

Glinner sounds like he has PTSD - understandably.

I think you're right. When you look at that level of harassment, I don't see how it wouldn't result in quite extreme trauma responses

NebulousDog · 05/09/2025 15:16

What's going on with the Guardian?! They appear to be the only paper with a reporter in court filing copy and t also seems reasonable:
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/sep/05/graham-linehan-told-police-trans-teenager-taunted-him-about-divorce-trial-hears

Which is interesting, considering that Daniel obviously suffered a temporary hearing loss yesterday when SB agreed that he wished KJK had had acid thrown at her instead of soup. I'm sure it was just an oversight though, and not in any way a deliberate attempt to prevent SB coming across as a psycho.

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:25

P she filmed it, you posted it - that's okay if you do it is it
GL she was filming a person trying to disrupt an event
P did you have permission to post up the images of those attendees?
GL no

P so you accept it's okay to do it GL not if you are using a camera to try to intimidate people

[Tech time... we're aiming to watch a video]

[P asks GL to listen really carefully to the BoI internal confrontation video between Kate Harris (KH) and SB.]

DeanElderberry · 05/09/2025 15:26

Did I take it up right upthread that they don't actually know Tarquin's date of birth? That he might not be a teenager at all?

He does look and move more like an in-his-20s pudgy thug, and I'd be relieved not to think a 16 year old was exposed to those very bad companions, but surely the court service/police would have correct details.

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:27

GL is this where SB keeps telling people to fuck off
P just listen
[sadly the sound is not working]
[yet]

[not working yet]
P did you listen to this video before it was posted on the internet
GL yes
P did you listen to what's being sasid
GL yes

J - do we have a transcript?
P the defence transcript doesn't have this part of it.
[okay we have sound]
P do you hear SB saying "you came up to me and took a photo of me"
GL he's lying
P he's lying?
GL yes - as soon as people on the panel started mentioning trans people

RedToothBrush · 05/09/2025 15:28

Keenovay · 05/09/2025 15:21

Glinner sounds like he has PTSD - understandably.

This

He's actually traumatised.

He gave the police 400 pages of evidence and the police immediately dismissed this (obviously assuming that it was evidence of harassment) rather than actually investigating and looking at what SB was doing.

SB has now subsequently ADMITTED under oath taking part in activities which clearly constitute harassment and are not normal, admitted threats and thought that cricket gate was just funny.

He's literally laughing at women.

And the police have just accepted his word at face value rather than being neutral. They can't have done anything different, because otherwise there wouldnt be a situation now where SB was sat in court to admit to what he did!!!!

He was a dreadful witness for the prosecution in this context. Remember he was the witness for the prosecution NOT the defence and it was a car crash.

Domesticatednottamed · 05/09/2025 15:29

Ha, misgendering by the Prosecution!

"P he's lying?"

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:29

he started taking photos.
P so it's not possible
GL it might be
[there is a bit of back and forth about whether KH approached SB twice - the pronouns between P and GL are all over the place and GL gets confused as to who we are talking about - P says she will revert to Ms Brooks]

RedToothBrush · 05/09/2025 15:29

Mollyollydolly · 05/09/2025 15:18

Court reporting guidelines are very strict. You have to report the evidence fairly (both sides) some outlets could be on a sticky wicket at the end of this if they haven't done so, so The Guardian is following correct procedure in this case.

You might want to take that up with the BBC over their reporting of the case yesterday... It was NOT fair.

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:30

Domesticatednottamed · 05/09/2025 15:29

Ha, misgendering by the Prosecution!

"P he's lying?"

It’s not clear if that was really the case (see latest exchange), but it usually happens that when we tell the truth, it gets harder for the TRAs to not slip into the truth as well.

Mollyollydolly · 05/09/2025 15:30

I absolutely agree. If they don't balance it out today Graham could have cause to complain.

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:31

RedToothBrush · 05/09/2025 15:29

There is a difference between reporting which must be accurate, and opinion (often called analysis), which can favour a different perspective.

Domesticatednottamed · 05/09/2025 15:29

Isn't it hilarious, she made a really big thing about the defence not misgendering SB and then she does it herself! Truth will out.

It’s not clear if that was really the case (see latest exchange), but it usually happens that when we tell the truth, it gets harder for the TRAs to not slip into the truth as well.

It happened all over the Peggie case. Every single member of the defence side said 'he' at some point.

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:32

P when Ms Brooks says that "you took a photo of may" - that may have been true
GL sure, but that's not compared to walking around aggressively and threatening to send photos of them to their employers
P did that happen?

P was she saying that?
GL no - but it's how he operates in the group I'm in I know he's contacted employers calling people paedophiles and bigots
P has she ever done that to you?
GL might have - through a sock account

Appalonia · 05/09/2025 15:33

There's been a misgendering! Off with her head!😂

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:34

[there's an epic pronoun-off happening in an argument about what SB is or isn't doing - P's argument is that SB was photographed first. GL says he was TOLD SB was photographing photo]

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:31

It wasn't factual though!

It was completely one sided. It didn't even mention any of the things SB admitted to! Its a MASSIVE bias by deliberate omission!

Please don't tell me it was fair and unbiased because it just wasn't and I consider it gaslighting to suggest it remotely was!

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:35

[sample:

P so was "SHE" doing so-and-so-and-so?
GL no, "HE" was doing so-and blah
P but "SHE" was not doing blah]

RedToothBrush · 05/09/2025 15:36

JFC it's exhausting! How have we got here? Why do so called educated, apparently intelligent people debase themselves with this lunacy?

I don’t disagree.

My point is that The Guardian’s coverage is a straightforward report of what was said in court, which must be accurate.

The BBC was couched differently in tone, being more “analysis” than a ‘this was said, that was said’ report. It used to be that all news was straightforward and opinion was confined to the columnists. Now the reports contain opinion.

CohensDiamondTeeth · 05/09/2025 15:38

Once the live reporting is over @RedToothBrush will you tell us how your conversation about this went? I'm really interested if it's trickled down to the average person in the pub yet, and what they think about it!

Thanks @SabrinaThwaite and @MyrtleLion for c&p the tweets reporting again!

MyrtleLion · 05/09/2025 15:38

P there are much more disruptive things SB could have done
GL of course - she didn't get naked or set the place on fire
P but you say it was harassment - taking photos.
GL yes
P what is harassment
GL in this case taking photos with the intention to doxx them or tell..

... their employers.
P so basically H is whatever transactivists do that you don't like
GL no but this is their playbook - harassment and doxxing - where are those photos going? no one's ever seen them - you'd think he worked for Reuters the way he talks about it
