NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #45

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and was expected to last 2 weeks. However, after 2 weeks it was not complete and it adjourned part-heard. It resumed on 16 July and the last day of evidence had been intended to be 28 July with 2 days of submissions from counsel meaning that the hearing was to have ended on 30 July. However, it became apparent as the hearing progressed that this schedule wouldn't be followed. (Considerable understatement.)

The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton gave evidence from Thursday 6 February to Wednesday 12 February.

I could maybe imagine Sandie being racist in some sense, but I'm struggling to see her say something so aggressive and inappropriate in front of colleagues as considering posting something though a mosque door.

Okay, so far there has been one directly witnessed alleged racist comment, in a busy restaurant in the context of social media so could have been misheard.

Just seems like typical work frenemies to me. I bet Fiona switched sides because she’s envious of any potential compensation SP might get. That’s all it takes for someone to switch allegiances like this and bring up comments from 10 years ago that were never reported formally. I bet SP is going to return in kind, when she gives evidence again.

So am I correct that NC is accusing the 2 witnesses LN and FW colluding about evidence when they were supposed to be sitting in separate witness rooms?

LN "Says" they were just discussing a lunch order for a ham sandwich and Irn Bru.

Wonder if they were using a code to tip off each other about what to bring up in evidence

LN seems very stroppy and a troublemaker - whipping up all sorts of gossip - yet cannot "recall" details of the actual changing room incident.

So the text messages saying Sandie asking for photos of DU - when were they dated?
