Guess we'll finally find out whether Imane Khelif is female or not. I suspect he will avoid the testing "out of principle" 🤭

Imane Khelif may not participate in the female category at the Eindhoven Box Cup, 5-10 June 2025 and any World Boxing event until Imane Khelif undergoes genetic sex screening in accordance with World Boxing’s rules and testing procedures.

Well, that's us fucked.

Our "Khelif is really a man" conspiracy theory is finally going to be disproven.

DuesToTheDirt · 30/05/2025 18:21

Yessss!

Theeyeballsinthesky · 30/05/2025 18:22

About time!!!

TidyDancer · 30/05/2025 18:25

It’s excellent news but no way will Imane undergo testing. He will withdraw entirely citing some kind of moral stance asking that his record is allowed to stand on its own merit. Blah blah blah. This will of course be nothing to do with the fact that Imane knows what sex Imane actually is. Absolutely definitely not. No way. Never.

TWETMIRF · 30/05/2025 18:26

Great news, I'm sure he will be there as soon as possible to prove he's not a man and then all us horrible meanies will have to apologise

AllWhitNoWhoo · 30/05/2025 18:29

Of all the things in all the posts, I think this is the one that annoys me the most.

That isn't rational, I know as there are so many, so much worse and he may have originally not known and been a victim himself.

But the photos of him on his coach's shoulders, celebrating after punching the women and taking their rightful places and medals makes me shudder.

So pleased to see this thread. Thanks, op.

ItsCoolForCats · 30/05/2025 18:35

It's the right decision, but I don't see how World Boxing could have adopted any other policy. There were due to be protests in Eindhoven next week, which was going to bring it all back into the spotlight again. And if a female boxer got seriously injured, it would be on them.

Good news for women's sports. It feels like we are slowly returning to sanity.

Bluebootsgreenboots · 30/05/2025 18:40

There’s no way Khelif will turn up for testing. He’ll stay home and claim ‘time of the month’.
Either way, career over, so great result.

TheOtherRaven · 30/05/2025 18:45

Khelif could have proved his case at any time if he knew he could come up with the result that matches what he says.

Mandatory sex testing is going to have to become an absolutely normal, every day thing in all kinds of situations, and it's men like him who have made it necessary.

MarieDeGournay · 30/05/2025 18:50

Woo hoo!😃
Just what the doctor ordered, eh?Grin

ArabellaScott · 30/05/2025 18:52

BRING IT!!!!!

MarieDeGournay · 30/05/2025 19:01

The only downside is that, if I'm reading it right, it's the national federations that do the tests, although they have to be certified, and can be queried.

I don't see the Algerian boxing body holding their hands up and saying 'Sorry, we've been wrong all along, we've just done tests and found out that our wonderful national icon Olympic gold medallist woman boxing champion is actually a man.'
So there might be a whole saga of queried certification of tests to come...
🍿

Helleofabore · 30/05/2025 19:03

This is brilliant brilliant news!!

At least while they're being disputed he can't fight.

No chance. Anyway, he's already had tests and the IBA claim to have the receipts and I believe them.

myplace · 30/05/2025 19:19

At least going forward, women won’t have to face fucking cheating arse men in the ring.

ArabellaScott · 30/05/2025 19:20

It wasn't the cheating so much as crowds cheering on a man beating up women. Stomach turning. And half of them knew it.

GCITC · 30/05/2025 19:58

I look forward to the testeria when the results are released.

orangegato · 30/05/2025 19:58

Suddenly a smear of lipstick means fuck all, who knew huh.

WithSilverBells · 30/05/2025 20:02

Nothing on BBC/sport/boxing

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 30/05/2025 20:04

As someone up thread mentioned, it depends on who's doing the testing, I don't trust Algeria to do it, expect the result to show he's a women.

outofdate · 30/05/2025 20:06

Yeeeeeeessssssss!

Apollo441 · 30/05/2025 20:12

Well Khelif can't claim victimisation as all competitors have to take the test.
