Guess we'll finally find out whether Imane Khelif is female or not. I suspect he will avoid the testing "out of principle" 🤭

Ha ha ha.

World boxing to introduce mandatory sex testing.
Datun · 31/05/2025 10:06

It is. And they must've been very sure of their ground and the direction of travel, to be so unequivocal

presumably the same characteristics that allow them to deny the tweets in front of their own eyes.

EweSurname · 31/05/2025 09:47

How likely is it that the home country administering the tests means that the results can be compromised?

World boxing have also reserved the right to conduct their own tests if they deem it necessary.

I'm wondering this. You can ask for the sample to get it verified I guess. But what if the sample isn't from Khelif in the first place?

Presumably the IBA can say hang on, we've got two tests that say something different here.

I should imagine they'd like nothing more

I would predict that WB can always do their own independent test should there be any doubt. Or maybe there is a list of verified - certified test centres.

Yes, it's going to be scrutinised, isn't it

Yes they have already reserved the right to do this

Heavily. And with good reason in the Algerian’s case. They knew.

Wow. That's great. Thanks for the link.

TheSandgroper · 31/05/2025 10:42

@EweSurname according to Dr Ross Tucker et al on the Real Science of Sport (I forget which episode), testing is done by an accredited laboratory but that the subject has to give permission for the results to be released to sport authorities.

Re the Taiwanese and the Algerian, apparently one didn’t provide a sample and the other did but didn’t give permission for the relevant of the results.

Read into that what you will.

Khelif being treated the same as the other women is targeted harassment and bigotry. Subjecting IK to equal rules is singling IK out and could only be due to racism, transphobia, misogyny and is all part of a right wing plan to force all women back into the kitchen.

How can you nasty wims sleep at night knowing the pain and suffering you are causing this delicate flower?

I had to read that twice to understand if it was sarcasm or not given some of the posting of late!

I have to say I am still worried about this and whether World Boxing will fake a result or not challenge a provided sample.

If they came back say Khelif is a woman I think it would be scary.

Bunce should resign btw, if the result is Khelif is a man or Khelif refuses to test, because he supported dangerous conduct in the sport and didn't question it when it was very obvious to others.

outofdate · 31/05/2025 11:42

Surely Bunce is finished

TheOtherRaven · 31/05/2025 11:46

The problem is that it is currently a virtue to certain groups to stand and look straight at the naked emperor, and bravely still shout 'he's definitely got knickers on' .

One would hope so.

Although I do wonder about Bunce calling Khelif The Algerian hero rather than The Algerian Heroine 🤔

Damn, it's a knockout. Steve Dunce is out for the count.

Oooooh Bunce is going to need a whole iceberg for those burns

ThreeWordHarpy · 31/05/2025 12:47

If Lineker had to step down early from his BBC role for a badly judged, withdrawn and apologised for tweet, then Bunce’s position at the beeb is untenable if Khalif takes the test. (To be clear, the tweet was disgraceful and it was right he had to give up future work with the Beeb)

Bunces’s best hope is that Khalif doesn’t take the test because then Bunce can witter on with “plausible deniability”. We know though, and he knows we know. Why on earth he’s doubling down on this I have no idea, I can only assume that, like so many others, there is someone in his close circle that is impacted by issues related to identity.

ThatCyanCat · 31/05/2025 12:52

Khelif won't take the test/release the results. He will blame bigotry and bullying and find some other sport that's still run by moronic lying misogynists. There are still loads.

outofdate · 31/05/2025 12:57

@lcakethereforeIam
That is a great read! Thank you

Reddit is quite entertaining. Plenty of Japanese Soldiers there.

nauticant · 31/05/2025 13:17

Reddit is insane over this. It's making Twitter look like a dons' common room at Oxbridge.

ThatCyanCat · 31/05/2025 13:26

Oh I hope a Redditor appears here to tell us we spend too much time online and need to get lives. That's always the best.
