NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #4

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

I very much doubt he is genuinely delusional otherwise he wouldn't say he was trans, he would just say he was a woman. Saying he is trans is acknowledging he's a man otherwise what is the trans bit all about.

Remembers now he didn't change in the cupboard. He took refuge there and changed in the bathroom.

Well, work camps and gulags for not bowing to propaganda and bs are not a new thing. I imagine there are quite a few little authoritarians high on their power to get people to create abusive situations, of the like that was thrust on SP, who would like this. Maybe it is even an extra little fantasy, who knows?

Listening to him is just incredibly upsetting and offensive. It's coercive control. He's so self assured and convinced he is RIGHT even though what he says makes no logical sense unless it's all about him being the centre of the Universe.

It's loss of women's human rights in action.

-Sandie was SAT DOWN (don't think she said that, but let's go with what he said)
-Sandie tries to explain how uncomfortable he is making her feel (sat down so a good 3-4 feet below him if the bench is about knee height
He was afraid, but carried on talking, though he could easily have simply walked out saying "I'm not listening to this".

Explain to me how Sandie could have been blocking his way/bullying him.

He's both said he is a woman, and that he didn't want his trans status outed. He's confused at best.

Right I'm finding his attitude to women lessers very upsetting and triggering and particularly the coercive control so I'm out for the day. Will catch up later.

Does he have a GRC?

Yes he did but he also talked about being trans, his transness and trans people. If he was genuinely deluded that he is a woman he wouldn't also say he is trans. It's an overvalued idea rather than a delusion ie the person knows deep down it's not true but feels a compulsion to continue behaving as though it is.

Gosh I don't think he is going to stand up well when being questioned by someone else. He seems to be struggling even with the super kind, special voice of JR

He considered the use of the term ' man' to be derogatory.

Yes, he couldn't legally at the time, which makes his presence in the CR wrong whichever way you cut it.
