Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

Access to view the hearing remotely can be obtained by sending an email request to [email protected] headed Public Access Request (Peggie v Fife Health Board) 4104864/2024 and requesting access.

Well bugger me I cannot see just reading nitter and what a drama lama, over what.

Also he said he was trapped in the room but left first?

Mmmnotsure · 06/02/2025 15:02

So what does he do when a patient refuses to see him as a woman. Collapse in tears? Get angry? Compromised care?

Frankly I don't think he should be allowed near vulnerable patients until he sorts himself out. I hope NHS Fife are overseeing him carefully.

yourhairiswinterfire · 06/02/2025 15:02

He says he was worried he'd be cornered, he'd be attacked.

Reminds me of when them from Stonewall with the support dog, mum, IT guy, lawyer and friend, claimed that them was afraid that if they had any Stonewall meetings at Garden Court Chambers, Allison Bailey would be lurking in the women's toilets and beat up any men with lady-feelz that entered. Because it's sooo likely that a 50-something year old woman barrister would do that...

Absolute spanners.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 06/02/2025 15:03

Ugh he's such a creep.

I am confused though, surely the main point of relevance is that he's biologically and legally male and the NHS as an employer must provide single sex changing rooms? When will that be brought up?

candycane222 · 06/02/2025 15:03

different browser and I'm 'waiting for the conference host to join' - is that what happens during breaks?

myplace · 06/02/2025 15:03

I have to ask DH to make sure he’s in the same room and pointing his face towards me. Regularly. As he walks off while still talking.

TWETMIRF · 06/02/2025 15:03

That's nice, he had a few days off for Christmas

candycane222 · 06/02/2025 15:04

Yay!

myplace · 06/02/2025 15:04

I can’t work out what the deletions are about. And so am unsure what we’re not allowed to say- ironically.

Can anyone hint?

Mayaisashero · 06/02/2025 15:04

The problem is I'd think psychiatric patients might be rather more likely to become subject to coercive controlling abusers and someone telling them their perceptions and beliefs are wrong and they're going mad.

If a doctor did this, however, it would be medical malpractice at best and possibly criminal.

I'm not really sure how trying to get everyone to lie about him being female fits in with this. Not good.

Appalonia · 06/02/2025 15:04

Anxious about going back to work. Asked if he could walk into work with another colleague.

Sections them for being delusional?

EasternStandard · 06/02/2025 15:05

Just give women single sex facilities fgs

We don't need this drama

spannasaurus · 06/02/2025 15:05

Donations to Sandie's Dad's fund now over £2k.

WearyAuldWumman · 06/02/2025 15:06

In yer dreams pal!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 06/02/2025 15:06

Good for him for leaving and changing elsewhere. The first decent thing he has done.

TWETMIRF · 06/02/2025 15:06

So it's ok for him to leave if he doesn't feel comfortable changing in front of her?

Mayaisashero · 06/02/2025 15:06

😱

CriticalCondition · 06/02/2025 15:06

He had to arrange a buddy to go into work with after Christmas. But her train (because of course it's a woman) was late so he had to go in himself. Poor lamb.

Appalonia · 06/02/2025 15:06

Claimant was in cr so he left and got changed in a cupboard!

Beowulfa · 06/02/2025 15:07

Imagine how exhausting it must be to work with/manage someone like this.

Appalonia · 06/02/2025 15:07

'Took refuge'

Mayaisashero · 06/02/2025 15:07

I REALLY hope he's not senior enough to section women who recognise biological reality on his own. But given the level of capture in NHS Fife - a worrying possibility.

RoamingGnome · 06/02/2025 15:07

None of this is going to help NHS Fife nurse recruitment. But maybe that's what their management want given the lack of money?
