nauticant · 06/02/2025 11:39

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

Access to view the hearing remotely can be obtained by sending an email request to [email protected] headed Public Access Request (Peggie v Fife Health Board) 4104864/2024 and requesting access.

Dr U mentioned that the consultant who he told about the incident immediately, said things like "that sounds like an upsetting incident" and he said she was "very supportive". I'd just say the consultant had done some training in reflective listening and was remaining rather neutral at this point

Is she even there?

He’s just walked out of the room for a break with a young woman who looks to be a similar age. Obviously towering over her…

murasaki · 06/02/2025 14:55

He's one of those new fangled lesbians. The superior ones.

Boiledbeetle · 06/02/2025 14:55

The level of victimhood and entitlement this man thinks he's deserved because he said "I am a woman" one day and immediately expected the entire world to fall in line is off the fucking charts.

myplace · 06/02/2025 14:55

The wife rather confirms what kind of TW DU is.

TWETMIRF · 06/02/2025 14:55

They look like they are praying in the back now, all heads bowed

RoamingGnome · 06/02/2025 14:55

I'd say the consultant walked Dr U to his car to make sure he left the premises.

Indeed.

"With the assistance of my wife I wrote an email" saying to meet and discuss what would happen next 3.17am 25th Dec

Edited

Of course. It's so vindictive. Straight away send the email. Nasty nasty nasty.

Lots of women corralled to keep the delusion going.

It's the only way it works

Why should we?

The whole tribunal is a mockery of women, the entire system that has led to this person wobbling on a stand

myplace · 06/02/2025 14:56

Though he arrived at Malaga a little younger than most seem to.

Ineedashero · 06/02/2025 14:56

The wife could be another TW...

Appalonia · 06/02/2025 14:57

What's even worse is that senior management and Drs have enabled this nonsense!

Re-up for Sandie's dad's collection - so close to £2000 now https://alexander-herschell-bell.muchloved.com/

Well hopefully that will show Sandie and the family that there is support for them amidst this horrible shitshow.

candycane222 · 06/02/2025 14:57

I'm just getting a blank screen with a placeholder about not recording when I log in. How long does it usually take to load (not that it matters really as I have to go out in 1 minute)

Longlivethebling · 06/02/2025 14:49

Yes!! And from England too. My poor blood pressure.

And from France. I've had to turn the video off for fear of spontaneously combusting with rage. Poor Sandie having to deal with all this (literal) bollocks.

Is it possible that, at some point in his life, somebody stressed to Beth that it was important to ensure that he looks at somebody when he speaks to them to mask some of his autistic traits.

A rule must be followed and all that.

That would make sense. I can think of two or three times when pupils complained about my lack of eye contact- I have to force myself to do it - and I’ve just apologised and explained that I’m on the spectrum.

Being brought up in Fife, I recall an emphasis on eye contact while I was at primary school. Mind you, that was the ‘60s.

Lougle · 06/02/2025 14:59

Are we taking a break?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 06/02/2025 14:59

"Short break" I don't know when back

Lougle · 06/02/2025 14:59

Also, do we know why the judge is writing long-hand notes? It seems a bit inefficient.

Cailleach1 · 06/02/2025 14:59

Mayaisashero · 06/02/2025 14:53

Fantasy. He's male bodied, the women are female bodied. He's at no risk of attack.

Ah but that is why there is safeguarding in keeping women out of rugby teams, prison, rape crisis centres etc. It is for the safety of the men. No women in the 6 Nations men’s team, I see. It is to keep men’s rugby safe and fair. The women would wallop everyone.

TWETMIRF · 06/02/2025 14:59

Yes, didn't catch how long

CheekySnake · 06/02/2025 15:00

WhatterySquash · 06/02/2025 14:47

Yes, but if it wouldn't have been bullying if he was a non-TW male, and if we accept her view that he's male (which the court has), then that's relevant to this case - or should be.

I agree, if he hadn't said the magic words, then there would be no argument, and he'd have been on the receiving end of a disciplinary the first time she complained that he was using the female changing room.

Useful things, those magic words, aren't they

I had to teach my (NT) kids - 'point your face at people when you're talking to them!'
