nauticant · 06/02/2025 11:39

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

Access to view the hearing remotely can be obtained by sending an email request to [email protected] headed Public Access Request (Peggie v Fife Health Board) 4104864/2024 and requesting access.

Jesus. He's talking like he was seriously assaulted. This is an utter mockery.

Datun · 06/02/2025 14:50

BettyBooper · 06/02/2025 14:49

DU I did my best to deescalate it. I told her it was inappropriate and that she needed to follow process.

No to deescalate it, you leave the fucking room!!

Five minutes ago he said he was taking all the necessary steps in order TO escalate it!

TWETMIRF · 06/02/2025 14:50

He needed support to walk him to his fucking car?

Boiledbeetle · 06/02/2025 14:50

Datun · 06/02/2025 14:49

What???

Don't forget words are actual violence

ArabellaScott · 06/02/2025 14:48

He says he was worried he'd be cornered, he'd be attacked.

Anyone want to estimate the height and reach differential between BU and SP that makes that an unlikely scenario?

I've not tuned in, but did he say he was autistic or was that mumsnet speculation?

If he is autistic, surely direct communication is a reasonable adjustment to disability. You can't then complain people are speaking directly.

speculation

ArabellaScott · 06/02/2025 14:50

Consultant walked him to his car, because 'she recognised I was really upset'

Appalonia · 06/02/2025 14:51

The female Dr walked him to his car??!!!

CriticalCondition · 06/02/2025 14:51

So I'm struck by how his demeanor in the CR is arrogant and mansplainy 'raise it through the proper channels' and then he bursts into womanly tears in the well being room.

ArabellaScott · 06/02/2025 14:51

'when I got home I cried a lot, spoke to my wife, wrote some emails to [unaudible] recounting the events'

TWETMIRF · 06/02/2025 14:51

Good job there were no patients that needed a doctor

Mmmnotsure · 06/02/2025 14:51

The other doctor kindly walked me back to my car because she recognised I was really upset. When I got home I cried a lot.

A&E doctor, people. What on earth happens if someone dies when you are on duty.

But don't worry. He unloaded it to his wife. And mum.

KnottyAuty · 06/02/2025 14:51

"With the assistance of my wife I wrote an email" saying to meet and discuss what would happen next 3.17am 25th Dec

Appalonia · 06/02/2025 14:51

The female Dr walked him to his car??!!!

Maybe it was really to make sure he went home and not into the women's changing room again!

PoshCoffee · 06/02/2025 14:52

His poor wife.

Biscofffan · 06/02/2025 14:52

His wife? 🙄👀

Datun · 06/02/2025 14:53

I guarantee this man has been all over his socials getting egged on, and loving the way it feels to be portrayed as a helpless damsel in distress, the victim of patriarchy and cat calling, burly construction workers.

i'm astonished JR can't see it, but if she's also in the echo chamber, she might easily agree with it all

MTCoffeePot · 06/02/2025 14:53

This evidence makes me wonder if Dr Upton in mentally/emotionally stable enough to work in a busy hospital role. I've only ever been in hospital as a patient but I've seen the way that nursing staff get shouted at and generally mistreated. Either that or it's a complete setup and he went in to the job with an agenda.

chilling19 · 06/02/2025 14:53

Lots of women corralled to keep the delusion going.

He has a wife?

Szygy · 06/02/2025 14:53

He ‘doesn’t like the idea of people looking at him’.

But:

[Sandie] Didn't look at or acknowledge Dr U while providing report. SP left the Drs area. Dr U made notes about this interaction "took keep track of them" "when I have these interactions I try to write them as soon as possible as they are fresh in my mind"

Again - WHICH IS IT?

CriticalCondition · 06/02/2025 14:53

This man has a lot of women making life more comfortable for him.

Datun · 06/02/2025 14:53

PoshCoffee · 06/02/2025 14:52

His poor wife.

Is she even there?

Mayaisashero · 06/02/2025 14:53

ArabellaScott · 06/02/2025 14:48

He says he was worried he'd be cornered, he'd be attacked.

Fantasy. He's male bodied, the women are female bodied. He's at no risk of attack.

EasternStandard · 06/02/2025 14:54

Remember when we were told women would be able to have single sex changing rooms

Where are they exactly?

This is so ridiculous no wonder the whole edifice is getting pushed down
