NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #4

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

This is some of the most enraging stuff I've ever listened to at a tribunal.

I'm gobsmacked at the male entitled shite coming out of DR Upton's mouth.

When you think of the amount of abuse nurses face, this is such a joke.

It is clear from his evidence that SP did not say Bryson or predator that was his inference that ended up in his notes

If it turns into a complete farce, and Sandy lost, it's going to set fucking fire to the issue.

So he was properly scared, unlike SP who was only intimidated, embarrassed, etc. OK.

Shame he can't extend that thought past himself.

After the conversation, he went to find the consultant on duty.

Then had a conversation with consultant. In the wellbeing room.

I'm imagining cries of 'oh fuck off' coming out of windows all over Scotland, like when there's a goal in the World Cup or the Euros 😜

That's got to be a huge mistake because questioning will just show that he made it up

So upset he immediately made notes on his phone? Aware I'm not all people but if I was really upset I wouldn't even think to do that in the moment.

Yes. When asked very specifically what she said, BU reported SP as saying 'it's like the situation in the prisons'.

And he said he took that to mean she meant Bryson.

Which is some leap.

He was crying 'a lot' when trying to relay the events in the wellbeing room.

A grown ass man was crying because a woman told him he shouldn’t in the changing room. FML.
If that’s his parents behind him, I’m embarrassed for them.

That's not what is happening, though. This isn't about whether he should have been in the female changing room.

It's about whether SP's complaints about him using the female changing room were bullying and whether the NHS was right to suspend her for them.

And literally shaking?

That he can say he felt unsafe because someone didn't like him changing in the female CR, to any woman, shows he has no CLUE what being a woman is like.

Women know who is the more unsafe in that situation. Men who care listen to women about this.

Is this why JR kept asking Sandie if she was scared?
