NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #4

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

He is careful to not give an ‘indication’ or the ‘impression that he is looking at the women undressing in the female changing room.

I suspect you're right and from what I've seen/heard of him I suspect he is autistic and hence thinks he's a woman because he is so uncomfortable in his own skin.

It's a tragedy for everyone that autistic people don't get better mental health support.

He is very very fluent though. No trouble with putting answers together, responses are quick and his voice stays easy.

This is re evidence given by SP's family as to how upset she was at the family celebrations the day after one of the conversations.

How many changing room encounters were there! Sounds like he was waiting for her to be in there and then entering, if so surely that’s harassment ?

Reading tweets he is very inconsistent about when. SP arrived in the CR where she was and did say she “sat” does not hang together at all.

That's what I'm getting. She didn't name anyone, she just said it was like men going in women's prisons (where the women couldn't escape).
