The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

Same. Though it shows they really know nothing about Trevi.

I asked a few gentle questions re inclusion and my replies to answers have now been deleted. They can't tolerate any questioning. It’s bonkers.

I really wish the admins had been braver. They could have said, this march centres women. Men and transwomen are very welcome to support us, but this march is about women.

The million women march has said it is strictly biological women and children marching. Men can cheer us on from the sidelines

The admins and their hangers on gaslit and insulted countless women. They constantly patronised women and told them they needed ‘to learn’. And for what? To placate men, in all their many identities. It would be lovely if they ‘learnt’ from this. They won’t.

From the Cambridge March announcement on the FB group. Its put transrights at the top as something they are marching for. I presume on the basis that if the march is anti-Trump that anything that can put two fingers up to what he is doing is good enough for the marchers. There are so many good reasons to march on behalf of women. Biological women. This has been totally hijacked and I don't think that is the fault of GC women.

I’m also amazed that a generation brought up ‘extremely online’ doesn’t appear to know that the internet never forgets.

I'm keeping an eye on it, I'm I'm London that week so might go, but I'm going to LWS Aberdeen and Hyde Park in March, Alloa Women's Festival and I got a ticket to Helen Joyce and Julie Bindel at Oxford Literary Festival so a few Terfy plans so far.

I will be at one of the LWS as member of WRN.
