The “women’s march” that’s all about the men.

I couldn’t see a thread about this, but I’m just here to share how annoying it is to see a so-called women’s march so concerned with placating men. This is the march in January.

As well as the highly predictable “this is for all women” (meaning including the ones who are men) and the ‘we don’t tolerate transphobia’ (meaning any concept of sex-based oppression), the Facebook group is full of posts reassuring men that of course they’re welcome and it’s not all men and obviously “not my Nigel”. It’s infuriating. Why do people do this?

It's part of the reason they get so enraged at us, because they've always expected women to fawn over their every dull utterance, like most men, both before and after "transitioning". And we don't. And we stand up to them.

This is the chant they put up for their followers....
This is just a pride / trans rights march.

Bleurgh.

But they don't want safe spaces for women....

Last time I heard that was at LWS Edinburgh in April last year, the one where the police blocked us in with a tiny exit surrounded byTRAs, chanting that amongst other things, and carrying homophobic signs.

So women who are concerned about their safety are just tossed aside?

I'm sitting on my hands to watch. If I comment I'll get booted out.

I bet it just looks like a TRA march, and we all know everyone is heartily fed up with their nonsense.

It has gone impressively pro-trans, as though pretending people can change sex is the most pressing issue for women. Odd really.

So to me this is translated (pardon the pun 😂) as ...we will exclude certain women so we can be inclusive but we will include a violent man who encourages others to hit said excluded women so we can go by our motto #bekind

Very odd. I also thought it was weird how they were wanting marches all over Ireland but never once touched on the abortion laws in Ireland but fully focused on the USA.
You know that they have no actual links to the US groups who set up this march over there. This march in the UK only came about due to one of the original leads crying for days due to Trump getting elected. They took on women with zero experience setting up marches.

Looked for a thread because my local march is drowning in the kool aid. Also they have expressed dismay that a women's charity haven't been banned from the march.
I'm not going anymore. I was going to take dd1 but I just feel so uneasy about it all now. I'll save the big placard holder dp made me for the next Palestine demo
