I'm trying to work out if the 9th cat is hiding, however the concreting isn't finished so I reckon they are just waiting until it's perfect before walking on it!

The ninja cat is on a shed roof just out of view waiting to hurl itself in.

And ExtraFootPuffin is an excellent username.

That's not want you want to hear, Woley.

A friend of mine did manage to put his into remission by losing loads of weight - is that an option?

I have a strong family history for it so am somewhat paranoid. Hence current health kick to lose space-hopper mid-section.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 02/10/2024 17:58

Who is this man you keep in your shed, @AlisonDonut ? I didn't ask for him, but the AI knows he's there.

That picture is disturbing in so many ways.

Boiledbeetle · 02/10/2024 19:17

In sisterhood with @SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius sudden enforced healthy eating kick I've chosen the Bluestocking steamed vegetables 😱 and water for tea.

Mmmm

😬

I may have to abandon using the fork though!

My DH likewise. He's a retired scientist with a fondness for taking measurements and experimentation so he did the Zoe trial a while ago, and subsequently quite often uses a CGM. He's finding it quite useful, and motivating to take more care about what to eat when (and also exercise). Nowadays if we have cake it's before or during a good walk for instance,
I wouldn't necessarily recommend doing zoe, it's quite expensive but some of their podcasts are good imo.

After my healthy tea I'm just off out for a quick breath of fresh air...

Is this a good time to say my eldest and I tried the triple egg, chutney, chilli sarnie?

You look like a homeless beetle playing a sad harmonica.

lcakethereforeIam · 02/10/2024 19:54

The sarnie was suprisingly nice...except I left chilli sauce duty to my sprog who, I swear, finds milk a little too spicy. I was chutney wrangling so that dominated rather. If there is a next time we'll reverse roles.

On the diabetes issue, asked my husband who is a health fanatic on you tube as we speak. He suggested The “Glucose Godess” on you tube, who talks about glucose spikes and all that stuff.

The name quite appealed to me. Don’t know why

I'm currently seeing if just cutting out weekday booze and reducing chocolate/sugar intake will do the trick. Pre-menopause, the weight used to go on slowly and then drop off me when asked nicely, but now the reverse happens: I piled on the better part of half a stone due to stress-related biscuit-eating in no time at all and now it's sitting there staring space-hopperishly at me along with the rest of the lard.

I love my food, I enjoy making cakes and biscuits, and find that herbal tea just doesn't cut it as a mid-morning snack.

Maybe I should listen to an improving Zoe podcast rather than eating bread and jam in the absence of biscuits in the cupboard...

<sigh>

At great sacrifice to myself I am prepared to store everyone's forbidden food and drink.

I am opening an amnesty cell to keep it all safe.

Your forbidden treats will be kept under lock and key and guarded 24/7

I will not, I repeat NOT lock myself inside the cell and eat it all!

My money is on just a lot of crumbs, but intact fruit - are those clementines on the floor, and more fruit in a bag at the back? - and the golf ball, bottom right.
I don't know what might have happened to the tomato, I know there's a bit of history there😳

Boiledbeetle · 03/10/2024 10:05

So, the food cell was over run by pretend beetle police. They handcuffed me and then ate all the food in an attempt to frame me! They shock of it all has aged me somewhat!

Honest.

I'll skip breakfast I think, still full from those steamed vegetables from last night.
