I have been glued to my phone all day, waiting for the rheumatologist to call.

I went to the loo and guess what? Yep. The bastards rang. It's one of those numbers you can't ring back. Waaah!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Arse arse arse. Sod's law in its most fiendish form

And that is why I now always end up taking the house phone and the mobile to the loo with me when I'm expecting those sorts of calls. They always ring mid flow!

The Pelvic Floor department should do this.

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius
Woley, tonight's tea here is home made veggie lasagne with a load of broccoli, followed by yogurt with raspberries and blueberries and some toasted oat sprinkly stuff.

You can still eat well. Don't panic!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/10/2024 17:08

Boiledbeetle · 02/10/2024 16:38

What happens next, do you know yet or are they at the letting you know and you now have to go see someone?

<quietly opens SDTG's cupboard whilst she's filling the kettle and removes the Tunnocks>

I’m seeing the nurse next week for more blood tests (because I have some inflammatory markers in my bloods too, and they want to know that’s going back to normal), and she will give me advice then too. The GP is starting me on metformin, just one a day to begin with, going up to two after a while, then more blood tests after three months.

I have bought myself one of the wearable glucose monitors to try - but using one permanently is not cheap (£79 a month - gulp).

It does all mean that, if I can get my blood sugars under control, the exhaustion may improve.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 02/10/2024 17:10

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius You can put it into remission - I did it by cutting out all sweet things (except 2 squares of dark choc a day). That gets the weight down, too.

I'm so sorry Wole. What a wanking, arsey, fucker!

Ohhh absolute buggeration - so sorry, @FuzzyPuffling - Sod’s Law.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 02/10/2024 17:11

Ah, crossposted & maybe your numbers were higher than mine. I've avoided meds for it so far. Best of luck with it.❤

@FuzzyPuffling did they leave a message? Or can you email them?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/10/2024 17:12

My fasting blood sugar was 11, and my three month one was 67.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 02/10/2024 17:15

I think mine was about 50 but I might be talking nonsense (wouldn't be the first time).

@AlisonDonut I accidentally hit 'create' too soon, but I think the AI had the measure of your feelings...

Yes that's pretty much spot on.

Apart from the additional fingers.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 02/10/2024 17:21

Oh, not AGAIN!😂

I'm trying to get 9 cats into the picture, but the AI keeps putting them on the patio, no matter what I say (pretty much like real life I guess).

So sorry to hear that, Woley. It's a shock and a big adjustment. Sending best wishes for a good outcome, one square of dark chocolate at a timeConfused

I'm trying to work out if the 9th cat is hiding, however the concreting isn't finished so I reckon they are just waiting until it's perfect before walking on it!

It's a cat hunting puzzle!
(Obviously, Cat 9 is taking the photo).

I shall email the rheumys, but i really wanted a conversation. Ho hum.

I was wanting to write, 'Where eez ze wooman wiz ze blunderbuss?' & wondering why, when I suddenly remembered Steve Bell's cartoon of the French artist who goes on & on about what a free spirit he is & then asks, "Where is ze woooman wiz ma curp of tea?".

I haven't managed to find that one but I did find this, which I thought might amuse Bluestocking patrons...
