Gosh. Those multi-heeled ones are quite something!

That 2nd one is terrifying 😳

I'm sure there was a recent thread about some actual real boots not a million miles away from these.

I need a general help gerbil.
I had my flu jab today, and DH had his covid one. We're both a bit sorry for ourselves.

Hope you both feel better soon. We had our Covid jabs at the weekend & I just had an achy arm but DH had days of flu-type symptoms.

I thought a gerbil Batman might be helpful, lots of useful stuff on the utility belt for Boily and Fuzzy. The result is unexpectedly cute!
I'm assuming the gloves are on a string around the neck...

I love the puffin boots with pufflings in, and Batgerbil. Good work!

I always react badly to vaccines and drugs- possibly my stupid ( autoimmune diseased) immune system gaving a panic attack. Last covid jab I had to yellow card the fallout it was so bad. I'm soooo special!!

Rhinestone wellies. Très fancy.

Do the French call wellingtons wellingtons? Isn't that kind of awkward?

Could I have a cheeseburger and fries, with pickles and onion rings, ta!

The French call them 'rubber boots', 'bottes de caoutchouc'.

Understandable, really.

Though 'caoutchouc' is a magnificent word.

FuzzyPuffling · 10/10/2024 18:44

Gumboots!
( Childhood word)

Poor @FuzzyPuffling and Fuzzydh - stay warm and take paracetamol, and I hope you feel better soon.

Awwww!

MarieDeGournay · 10/10/2024 18:47

That sounds awful, Boily, hope it gets fixed pronto!

Bottes en caoutchouc is wellies in French, though I'm not sure I've remembered the spelling right.

Magpie, you are gilding the lily in that outfit, the lovely thing about you magpies is that you/ye are always dressed impeccably for dinner, even if it's only a dried up old crust of breadSmile

@FuzzyPuffling you both need fuzzy blankets and Hotties with fuzzy covers and fuzzy socks.

I imagine with winter coming the Blue/Redstocking with have all those in stock.

I do, I do.
I currently have a furry rug and Girlcat on my lap.

Sorry, Chersfrozenface, I didn't see that you had already introduced the wonderful word caoutchouc into the proceedings.
I got sidetracked by the lovely boots and the cute little maintenance gerbil and missed reading a few posts🙄

lcakethereforeIam · 10/10/2024 18:55

'Caoutchouc' 😃 reminds we that we sneeze in French.

It's always a bit of a gamble for me with vaccines. Usually I'm fine but the covid one has given me a few duff days. You have my sympathy.

The maintenance gerbil is absolutely adorable and I need a whole horde of them in my life.

(I had to look up the correct collective noun for gerbils.)

FuzzyPuffling · 10/10/2024 18:58

Good vaccine thing today..
Two of the staff didn't believe I was over 65 and had to get the different vaccine. Made me feel young!

Boiledbeetle · 10/10/2024 19:03

The maintenance gerbil is struggling

Chersfrozenface · 10/10/2024 19:06

I've just seen a man with a chicken in his rucksack on the telly.

At least I think that's what I saw. I can't check at the mo, it's not on catch up yet.

Everyone here has their own sofa.

Looking at that second picture, I think I've just found the Bluestocking's resident duck-billed platypus.
