There is a lot of concern on twitter over a set of flag illustrations on a pillar at London Bridge Station.

Sex Matters have now issued a formal complaint to the authorities about it see letter below.

This has resulted in the discovery that Shane Andrews, Network rail’s LGBT+ lead, who is also a scout leader (and a trustee of the Scouts), an independent police custody inspector, a school governor - used abusive sexist/homophobe slang all over his social media. He went on a huge deleting spree, but copies of his tweets are being shared widely.

That's some excellent sleuthing. And perfectly displays what women on here often point out - that so many of the men pushing queer theory at children in schools, children's organisations like the Scouts eyc are dyed in the wool misogynists.

Dennis Kavanagh's response to this on twitter is very funny. The situation itself however is not.

Shane Andrews twitter was an absolute mess. No wonder he deactivated, but christ how so these men get into the positions they do.

You would think Network rail is a large enough organisation to have an HR department that would be switched on enough to check the social media content of one of their 'leads' especially when said lead will feature prominently on Network rails very own social media platforms.

as for Mr Andrews, the problem is that so often in these organisation they ask for ‘volunteers’ to lead these pieces of work that no one else can be arsed with/give much of a toss about . Step forward the likes of SA using it as an opportunity to position themselves into places with influence.

If it's just a flag, what's the point of it? Why does it need to be put up in the first place?

Maybe a bit off the point, but I do marvel at these people who are so lacking in an instinct for self-preservation that they will post offensive and sometimes incriminating stuff all over their social media. Why?

You couldn't make this stuff up. His twitter feed was full of words like skank, whore, tranny, slag as well as moaning that female staff weren't smiling at him, and bragging about how he takes surreptitious photos of young men using trains.

It's all too common. It's how they get onto the carousels of trustee, NED, boards and move from one feeding station appointment to another.

I suspect that Network Rail will have to be in damage control right now. As will the other organisations that he has roles with. And it is past time.
