London Bridge railway station political gender flags - how to complain

There is a lot of concern on twitter over a set of flag illustrations on a pillar at London Bridge Station.

Sex Matters have now issued a formal complaint to the authorities about it see letter below.

This has resulted in the discovery that Shane Andrews, Network rail’s LGBT+ lead, who is also a scout leader (and a trustee of the Scouts), an independent police custody inspector, a school governor - used abusive sexist/homophobe slang all over his social media. He went on a huge deleting spree, but copies of his tweets are being shared widely.

He must be incredibly stupid and think he's above the law to write (and not delete) incredibly homophobic, misogynistic, anti-Semitic slurs.

Agree all those were disgusting, but the thing that really should have raised a red flag to his employer were the mentions of taking surreptitious pictures on the tube of attractive young men. That is as creepy as it gets.

...and black, representing solidarity with those who, though they are open and honest with all participants of their relationships, must hide those relationships from the outside world due to societal pressures. The symbol in the center of the flag is a gold Greek lowercase letter 'pi', as the first letter of 'polyamory'.

Polyamory is sleeping around. Why would you have to hide that from the outside world?

This display at Network Rail seems to involve much celebrating of straight people. On just one side of that pillar, we've got Straight Ally flag, the Demisexual flag (people who only feel sexual attraction to people they have an emotional bond with, which automatically encompasses many straight people), and the Polyamorous flag (which encompasses straight men and women who want to shag multiple people).

Are straight people the +?

The whole thing is a description of all the different types of sex one might like.

And the person in charge seems to do nothing but talk about how they hate women and how they fancy young men.

It seems like an exercise in pruriency.

This occurs to me all the time. These things are all, basically, about sex - who you sleep with (and when/how). Is the T also about sex??

If so, then we sure as hell don’t want transwomen in rape crisis centres and ladies’ loos and women’s prisons!! If it’s not, then what on earth is it doing lumped in with all the others?

It's pretty hard to avoid the feeling that the flags are for people who need to feel special and not like the other boys and girls. Those of us who somehow make it through the day without needing a flag are too boring to be celebrated.

The cynicism in initiatives like this is blatant. It would cost a lot of money to make every railway station in the land fully accessible to people with disabilities and to increase staffing, replace rolling stock and improve staff training so that stations are safer and services are more reliable for everybody. They haven't got that money, or at any rate not without cutting senior management bonuses and dividends to the private companies running much of the network, so cheap boxticking exercises like this get the green light instead. Whoopy doo.
