nauticant · 23/01/2024 19:31

Roz Adams was employed by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre (ERCC) as a counsellor. She is claiming constructive dismissal for Gender Critical (GC) beliefs. The CEO of ERCC is a well known transwoman known for, among other things, controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

There's live tweeting from https://twitter.com/tribunaltweets or if Twitter doesn't show the tweets, look at https://nitter.net/tribunaltweets. There's an informative substack here: https://tribunaltweets.substack.com/p/adams-vs-edinburgh-rape-crisis-centre

NC - is dismantling gender identity completely
it depends on fear to survive

Chrysanthemum5 · 24/01/2024 14:41

NC - you cannot force people to deny the evidence of their senses

ickky · 24/01/2024 14:41

RedToothBrush · 24/01/2024 14:40

Note how the NB female responses with 'hysterical rage'. Not just rage. They are hysterical with rage.

Funny isn't it?

Us wims often get hysterical.

RedToothBrush · 24/01/2024 14:41

lechiffre55 · 24/01/2024 14:40

witness just said deliberate misgendering is an "unforgivable sin"

that she accepts the pharse unforgivable sin is appropraite is what NC is exposing

'Unforgivable sin' - is that an acknowledgement its a religious in nature and must be punished?!

Boiledbeetle · 24/01/2024 14:41

This is exhausting, so anger inducing, but absolutely Fucking glorious!

nauticant · 24/01/2024 14:41

Remember that these people are volunteers. It'll be interesting to look at the resignations from ERCC posts over the coming year.

NC: puts it to the witness that it's an unforgiveable sin for someone who doesn't believe TWAW to use the pronouns that come naturally to them. Talks about tabboos and rules about language. Says you can only get people to pretend they think TWAW, if you make them too frightened to speak the truth, and that's exactly what this organisation did.

Appalonia · 24/01/2024 14:42

Org was determined to make an example of her?

No, was about following our policies

lechiffre55 · 24/01/2024 14:42

witness "it wasn't about making an example"
without NC using that phrase first
very telling

murasaki · 24/01/2024 14:42

Chrysanthemum5 · 24/01/2024 14:41

NC - you cannot force people to deny the evidence of their senses

Well that gets to the Orwellian root of the matter, doesn't it.

She's nailed it.

RA was guilty of the 'unforgivable sin' because she wouldn't take the knee over NB employee's known sex, relevant to SU enquiry, and was cast out as a result.

Scrolling through the attendees, it's really Tribunaltweets Assemble!

I wonder what the bat signal symbol would be?

GCITC · 24/01/2024 14:42

BlessedKali · 24/01/2024 14:40

why on earth did they send this woman as a witness?!

Because she makes the ERCC look better than MW or Nico would've.

FetchezLaVache · 24/01/2024 14:43

NC: Bullying is the only way you can force people to repeat the obvious lie that TWAW (paraphrasing here)

[Bow down before that woman!]

ERCC is institutionally profoundly hostile to sex realist views.

Appalonia · 24/01/2024 14:43

ERCC is profoundly hostile to anyone with sex realist views?

No

Again, absolutely nailed it.

NC is just brilliant.

Quite the comment - if a belief requires fear to survive, and you've got a bunch of traumatised and vulnerable women, obviously a culture of fear is TOTALLY appropriate.

(Language use by both the defence and claimant are interesting this afternoon).

BlessedKali · 24/01/2024 14:44

NC IS AMAZING

nauticant · 24/01/2024 14:44

NC: Priorising the identity needs of staff members over the needs of traumatised service users.

I'm still raging about the harm they are willing to do in their 'inclusive' organisation

nauticant · 24/01/2024 14:44

End of cross-examination.

OP posts:
murasaki · 24/01/2024 14:44

NC is pulling no punches. I'm very impressed.

NecessaryScene · 24/01/2024 14:45

MS it lets people have a choice

The choice to compel everyone around them to participate in their sex denial role play. It doesn't let those other people have a choice.

FetchezLaVache · 24/01/2024 14:45

NC It's your job as board member to be the conscience of the organisation, isn't it?

Yes.

NC Then it seems to me you have quite a lot of work to do.

BURN.

HarpQuartet · 24/01/2024 14:45

NC made me laugh out loud with her suggestion that the organisation has a lot of work to do. Or perhaps that the board, as the ERCC's consicence, has a lot of work to do.
