Claiming constructive dismissal for GC beliefs.

ERC CEO is a well known transwoman know for controversial "reframe your trauma" remarks.

I wonder why so few of us knew that this case was coming up? After the Rachel Meade cases, along with the Joanna Cherry case (when the Stand backed down) and the Julie Bindel case against Nottingham Council, you'd think this would be a slam dunk for the claimant. I wonder how on earth Edinburgh Rape Crisis are going to try and justify their behaviour.

I am in Scotland and very involved in the sector and hadn't heard about this until now so thanks for sharing. I expect it will be in Third Force News now though, will have a look! Definitely one to watch.

Rainbowshit · 15/01/2024 13:45

Perhaps the claimant wanted as little publicity as possible? Shame as we would have dug for her.

Heartened to see she has Naomi Cunningham on the case though.

I've just realised I've assumed it's a woman. Might not be.

Place marking. Thank you for alerting us OP. I hope the claimant gets the justice they deserve.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 15/01/2024 13:51

I'm also in Scotland and I didn't know about this! I am glad Naomi Cunningham is on it. She's good!.

If there is a garden that needs planting can someone point us in the right direction?

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 15/01/2024 13:52

And yes thankyou for the headsup @Rainbowshit

RethinkingLife · 15/01/2024 15:20

I can't find an allotment plot despite looking at Adams' own website and the usual crowd platforms.

IamSarah · 15/01/2024 15:53

This is all too familiar.

The 60 year old woman who was refused a single sex support group and not even signposted to Beira's place.

maltravers · 15/01/2024 16:11

Still no public hearing? What happened to open justice? It’s hard not to be suspicious given the level of institutional capture in Scotland.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 15/01/2024 16:12

I wonder how on earth Edinburgh Rape Crisis are going to try and justify their behaviour.

It's amazing how many people fail to realise that self-righteous bullying is still bullying.

I do hope Adams has good people on the tribunal. It's satisfying to see self-righteous people try to justify themselves when questioned by sceptical listeners who can't be shut down. For some members of RCS having to really answer the hard questions could be a new experience.

WinterLobelia · 15/01/2024 16:16

thanks for the links.

Here is the unrolled thread:

I wonder if Mridul Wadwha will give evidence this week, I imagine so.

Rainbowshit · 15/01/2024 16:22

Oh are you following the tweets?! I like her!!! She now works with Beira's place.

This may get a lot of publicity because of that connection. I wonder if jkr is supporting her in this?

Thanks @IamSarah I had forgotten TT posts in the afternoon from a new thread. The complainant comes across well in my view. She seems smart so cross examination will be interesting. Do we know what the last minute amendment to the Respondent’s case was?

IwantToRetire · 15/01/2024 16:34

I saw about this on IamSarah's thread.

They do seem to have kept it quiet.

But huge respect for the woman who is challenging the trans orthodoxy.

Is there a summary for today. for those of use who cant fathom the legal language?

Looks like they are coming back tomorrow.

RapidOnsetGenderCritic · 15/01/2024 17:02

RA coming across really well in the Tribunal Tweets transcript.

Cancelledcurio · 15/01/2024 17:13

Oh bloody good luck to the claimant! Digraceful situation that RC centre! So glad Naomi Cunnigham is on the case as she is fearless ! Please let us know if any support needed for planting etc !!!

guinnessguzzler · 15/01/2024 17:23

Absolutely scandalous that ERCC refuses to refer / signpost to Beira's Place. I mean, lots of things they're doing are appalling but to not even pass someone the basic information about where else they could go when you are refusing to help them really is shoddy. And the time being wasted on this because the Trustees wouldn't hold MW to account, and frankly employed MW in the first place when it is obvious how it would end up. I think the result from this could be very significant.

teawamutu · 15/01/2024 17:27

I was coming in to quote that, Guinness. What an absolute shower of bastards. They not only won't help traumatised women who can't be near men and can't pretend; they actively block them from the organisation that would help.

Is the whole org just to validate MW now?

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/01/2024 17:33

I also had no knowledge of this case. I do hope MW is called as a witness and forced to attempt to defend the disgraceful "Reframe her trauma" comment.

UtopiaPlanitia · 15/01/2024 17:53

Thanks for the info OP, I’ll be keeping an eye on Tribunal Tweets during this hearing. So far, I think the claimant has come across very well: knowledgeable and reasonable. I’m horrified to think thar ERCC wouldn’t signpost a woman to single-sex provision at Beira’s Place - it’s both a dereliction of their responsibility and extreme pettiness.

ArabellaScott · 15/01/2024 18:16

'...we had someone in their 60s - she wanted a women-only group therapy context, and ERCC said they were "trans inclusive" and she said "is that women only?" - and a few days later got an email from ERCC saying she was not suitable for their service'

https://twitter.com/tribunaltweets/status/1746920470769709129

The callousness of this is breathtaking.

But in fact, unsurprising, given what I've read about ERCC.

This service is not about helping women. It's about promulgating an ideology. They don't care about survivors, clearly.
