Vogue magazine has published a piece by Emily Bridges:

Full of the usual hogwash and inaccuracies, and the discredited CCES report is doing some heavy lifting.

And apparently they will be trying to take British Cycling to court. We shall see.

There isn’t a men’s category in cycling under UCI (or BC) rules anymore. There is a female category and an open category.

Is it now open and female for Masters only and male and female for elite?

As an aside, telling people who have spent ages studying this whole field (some here have done it for more than a decade) that they should educate themselves is not at all kind or even useful. Education is not the same as indoctrination.

The UCI seems to have wholesale lifted the policy from BC but then muddied it in bad translation in the press statement. From what I can gather it applies both to elite races and to the masters, Gran fondos etc. I haven’t looked through the rule book. As the closest I ever get to UCI races is watching them I try and avoid it. It is always the same. It is like they all follow a script and it isn’t even imaginative.

New poster (allegedly) arrives on thread and flings around accusations of hate and bigotry in first post.

Quickly thereafter tells posters they are a woman, doing some kind of womanly activity (one had to bake a cake iirc) while posting and telling us they have no issues with sharing spaces or accepting males as ‘women’. How cool, eh!

Then comes the misinformation. Immediately followed by ‘google it’, sometimes with an emoji. But the misinformation is usually about suicide, or male on male violence angainst trans people in toilets and we are told that there are plenty of peer reviewed papers.

Usually there is a post saying we should get to know someone trans, like we don’t already. Getting to know a psych was a new and bizzare angle this time.

When the misinformation is highlighted, some distractive discussion about womanly activity is attempted. With more insults, and false accusations, of course.

Then comes a weird flounce that goes through and offers love and hope we get educated, get help to overcome our hate /trauma. The words ‘peace and love’ in some form with an emoji finishes the interaction.

Sometimes this includes another mention of their womanly activity too.

I wish they would change the script and bring some actual evidence to back up their claims. However, the objective is just a drive by scolding and I expect they think they bring enlightenment and that readers will read their posts and think ‘gosh, they are so right!’.

But it is often the opposite. Readers see emotional manipulation and abuse and nothing to back it up.

(Note to readers: there are none. There is no peer reviewed paper discussing suicide numbers. Not one! There are incentivised self reported market research surveys that are poorly worded that have been weaponised, but nothing based on fact. There are no statistics for trans people being attacked in male toilets either, no articles nothing to back up the falsehood that male people who are trans are attacked in male toilets)

I've done a very important, official survey amongst my male friends and colleagues.

Not one had any issue, beyond a first "wtf?" notice-the-bloke-in-the-dress moment.

No problem with them. No fear, no aggression, no disgust, just "OK, ok".

What they DID have concerns about were females using male facilities, especially youngsters.

Each and every one of those guys were conscious of the female in the same space as them when they were using urinals. They're aware of the potential for accusations and trouble for them. They just want to pee, and now are thinking of possible trouble. Enclosed space, no witnesses, bloke says something like "what are you doing here, you're a girl" and the police are called on him.

Men ARE concerned, they're just not concerned about the males.

@BCCoach It was the UCI rule changes from 17/7/23 that I was looking at - the male category seems to be Men / Open for Masters and Men for all other classes of competition. Seemed a bit strange that a Men / Open category wasn’t applied to all the different classes?

See, this is another twist. I suspect that shutup honestly believes they too are ‘loving’. Whereas they have turned up and attacked people with slurs and name calling.

How is that love? Is that the kind of love that shutup supports? is that what they are modeling for the child they are self-reportedly breastfeeding?

Readers, this is part of the destabilisation of language. Where males can be female. Where tolerance is used to self describe people who are not tolerant at all. Where love is portrayed as delivering abusive terms and name calling.

The condescension, the aggressiveness and the lies that this poster delivered is all wrapped up in their false belief that they love others and spread that love everywhere. The love bombing complete with emojis.

That type of ‘love’ is an abusers dream.

Rachel McKinnon is another cheating wotsit. Glad they've finally made themselves so objectionable that the UCI is dealing with it, although as someone said on Twitter it's funny that they can be as sexist as they want, but when they go after the UCI they act. Would they have allowed racism? And if not, why is sexism ok?

Will the sporting organisations that have finally protected female athletes do something to correct the errors made in handing prizes and records to males competing in the female category?

It's clearly been a mistake. Seems obvious to me, therefore, that those prizes, medals, trophies, records, stats and all oney won should be reclaimed from the males who were allowed to claim them, and given to the real winner.

It's the only way to restore justice.

The latest one didn’t afaik call us “cis” (or the very important capitalised “Cis”) but was probably interrupted or skived off early or sent for more training.
