In today's DT:

digitaleditions.telegraph.co.uk/data/1387/reader/reader.html?social#!preferred/0/package/1387/pub/1387/page/40/article/NaN

Sorry, I don't know how to get past the paywall.

It's about the person who was upset when given the key to the unisex changing room in a Sheffield hotel.

So if you’re a man who wants to watch teenage girls getting changed, all you have to do is pop on a skirt and wander through the girls’ changing rooms whenever you feel like it?

Yes, it really is that simple. Mind boggling, isn't it?

Is it philanthropy? A sense of civic duty? A determination to improve the lives and inner joy of all mankind? Stop me when I'm getting warm.

<hands AutumnCrow a sweater>

You’re looking a little chilly over there…

JanesLittleGirl · 29/07/2023 22:44

Anne has abused every boundary and, by making a lot of noise about abusing those boundaries, has finally had those boundaries imposed. Fucking great!

Hoist with Anne's very own, willingly produced, petard. Isn't it beautiful?!

Sorry not read all the posts but can see this is a communal changing facility.

As a women, I would not enter the ladies changing room unless I was swimming or had a child that needed my assistance.

The fact that this person is male says it all.

In my opinion, this is also a major safeguarding fail by British Swimming. This should not have been allowed to happen.

BRITISH SWIMMING LET A MALE SEE GIRLS GETTING UNDRESSED!

Heads must role and that male must not he allowed anywhere near a child again.

"This is going to sound so stupid: yesterday, walking through the station, i saw a nice looking lady and thought, as I always have done, "Oh, I wish I looked like that." Then it hit me. In my search for evidence that I really am trans, I am guessing cis men don't think that?"

So "looked like that".

Nothing to do with feeling female. Just looking female.

Oh the elephant in the room we cannot name.....

NicCageisnotNickCave · 29/07/2023 23:25

Tweeting about men in ladies lavs since 2018!

(also, Anne is a Brexiteer. Not many of those in transland! Big Steph is the only one that springs to mind)

But then again being female is nothing to do with “looking female” or “feeling female”.

We’re female because we’re born female, with everything that entails in the way of our physical bodies.

With particular attention directed at any threads about safeguarding children.

Yes. Strange.

HarrietJet · 29/07/2023 23:32

"Burly, bearded men forcing their into women's lavatories" just makes me so angry
Not half as angry as the women already in there, mate.

But “looking like that” is precisely what every ‘cis’ male cross dresser wants. As Anne must know. Who is Anne trying to convince?

RedToothBrush · 29/07/2023 23:44

Reminder:

A toilet/ changing room without women isn't of use to people like Anne.

Anne was unhappy using the unisex facilities.

Why?

Because a female changing room without women is just a changing room. They need women to use to get what they want from the facilities.

Anne then used the female changing rooms as a walk through. Multiple times. When no one else was. They could have used the male walkthrough. They could have used the long way around like everyone else.

They chose not to.

When they didn't need to use the facilities for changing.

Reminder: they were not using the facilities for their intended purpose. They had no reason to be there.

Why were they using the changing rooms as a walkthrough instead?

It shows a complete contempt for everyone else who might be unhappy.

This completely illustrates the point about the need of people like Anne to use women and girls NOT the functionality of the facilities. The use of facilities is a cover for using women and girls.

This needs to be said time and again.

CaptainWarbeck · 30/07/2023 01:13

As someone said upthread, who wouldn't prefer a private, dry space to change in if offered, rather than an open plan changing room.

Or should I say what woman wouldn't want that.

I wonder how many men are kicking themselves that they didn't think of that one.

How many times have we heard 'but no one would go to all this effort just to.....apart from all the historical cases of people doing so'

I wonder how many men did think of that, but are a bit less vocal on twitter than this one.

I don't know of anyone woman would rather change in an open changing room compared to a private cubicle.

If you go somewhere with a mix, you can guarantee that every changing room will be full before anyone uses the other space.

Such behavioural patterns are interesting to watch and are incredibly ingrained.

NCembarassed · 30/07/2023 09:01

I got the impression from the DM article that AC wasn't using the changing rooms as a shortcut, but to use the toilets in the female changing room instead of the dryside ones.

Maybe the reference to shortcut is because they were closer (no idea, as don't know the venue)?

Personally, from when I've attended gymnastics/dance competitions, I've always used the 'public' toilets, never those in the changing area - and that's as a biological woman.

ApocalipstickNow · 30/07/2023 09:31

Anne must be feeling very surprised that the original tweet didn’t result in grovelling apologies from the company, lots of likes and tweeters piling on slagging off the woman who said no.

Because on so much behaviour up until now that’s exactly what has happened.

Ironically, being told no and have no one care about your feelings is probably the most like a woman Anne has ever been treated.

Quite a spectacular backfire and hopefully it will embolden others to say no a bit more often.

It's funny how women have a pattern of behaviour where they go to use the toilets further away because they have a dry floor (and toilet seat).

I wonder why there's a difference in behaviour?

It's almost as if there is a biological difference in how men and women live day to day is present and still present despite 'now being a woman'.

Can anyone identify the elephant in the room?

It's funny how despite transwomen being women they don't behave in the same patterns.

How many times have we heard 'but no one would go to all this effort just to.....apart from all the historical cases of people doing so'

It's the naivety that annoys so much, isn't it? predators go where the prey is. If you're a predator and you have to spend time (days, months, years) stalking your prey in order to get near them, then that's what predators will do; because the pay off more than repays the effort.

Watch any wildlife programme and study the lionesses in a pride. They watch their prey, they plan strategies and they crouch motionless for ages until the prey comes into reach. If lions can and will do it, why wouldn't even more evolved humans if it gets them what they want? the people who say 'but no-one would go to all this effort just to...' have clearly just never had something that they deem worth all that effort.
