Mask off. And replies off as well.

"If you can, support @tigergirl_70 in her fight for an inclusive rugby game #MakeSportEveronesGame"

She is a disgrace to women. Rugby, ffs. The ultimate contact sport. Is she afraid of losing her grift if she says No to this sort of thing. Surely she must realise how much this will peak people.

DerekFaker · 16/05/2023 11:07

Dragged kicking and screaming eh? Nice.

"The English Rugby Football Union (RFU) is facing a legal challenge to its ban on male players competing in contact rugby with women.
Julie Curtiss, 52, told @ESPNUK that opponents to men participating in women's sports "need to be dragged, kicking and screaming.""

Lovely little echo chamber she’s got there.

All I can see is the missing 'y'

KalimbaMoon · 16/05/2023 11:14

Wow. Rugby is a dangerous sport - why does tigergirl think TW have a right to play a dangerous contact sport with natal women? That video was chilling - saying we need to be dragged kicking and screaming to accept TW in the sport. Could you imagine being tackled by Tigergirl?

Tigergirl was offered referee and coaching positions, just non-contact but that wasn’t good enough. No compromise allowed. Never mind if women get hurt, because sport features people of all strengths and sizes anyway so there is no level playing field to start with.

There are so many TW in sport these days. Plenty who could start their own TW teams! Why don’t they?

Loving Nancy’s hashtag fail.

So while rugby, a sport replete with the worst injuries, concussions, fractured skulls and necks, spends a fortune researching ways to mitigate this, we're gonna willingly cheer on this big bruiser consciously adding to the load?

Right...

gymorgin · 16/05/2023 11:16

No regard for the women that would have to play against a man then?!

illiterato · 16/05/2023 11:18

Girls and boys are not allowed to play together in rugby union after U11., an RFU rule which I fully support as a parent of both a ds and a dd who play rugby. There have also been other rule changes to improve safety (tackle height will be lowered next season in all but top level rugby to reduce head injuries/ flip tackles) and a mandatory 21 day rest after concussions. I cannot see the RFU changing the rules to allow trans women to play women's rugby. It's completely inconsistent with the direction of travel re. safety/injury prevention.

miri1985 · 16/05/2023 11:19

I have to say I'm all in favour of this challenge, the more sunlight the better.

The RFU will put their data into open court and it will be a lot harder for the other more cowardly sports organisations to claim ignorance especially when a judge rules that clearly transwomen have an advantage over women etc

PuttingDownRoots · 16/05/2023 11:19

Rugby separates at U12 level. No exceptions. My DD isn't allowed to play with her current team next season as an U11 as it is becoming an U12/U11 instead of U11/U10.

If it isn't safe for kids of her age it definitely isn't safe for adults

Yeah- my DD also has to change teams but I agree it's time. The strength difference is becoming more apparent as they all start to hit puberty and a few of the lads in U12 are huge (basically well into puberty).

Helleofabore · 16/05/2023 11:22

Once this is challenged and ALL the research is shown, hopefully this crap about ‘the science doesn’t show advantage’ will be blown out of the water.

JulesJules · 16/05/2023 11:23

Nancy is a disgrace.

You know those scenes in horror films where the friendly neighborhood vampire sees the incoming rays of the sun at dawn moving towards him, and he can't escape?

Let's keep the court cases coming, the more sunlight/disinfectant is doled out liberally, the more this is all exposed as the sham to end all shams.

illiterato · 16/05/2023 11:25

I feel rugby is the sport where there is least space for argument. If you just look at what has happened to the men's sport since it went professional, it is clear that weight and the strength that comes with that is a huge advantage. They are MASSIVE compared to the 90's. Also, one of the things parents continually ask for is weight limits for age groups (Australia has this already I believe).

ArabeIIaScott · 16/05/2023 11:26

Comment from the Crowd Justice page:

'[T]here are other ways to segregate sport to keep it fair. In boxing, for example, they do it by weight. Where's the fairness in requiring a 5'1" 8-stone man to play rugby against a man the size of Alun Wyn Davies or Martin Griffiths?'

Has 'Jane' actually seen Julie Curtiss, at all?!

KalimbaMoon · 16/05/2023 11:27

I fear that one day some poor woman will get a broken neck if burly male-bodied people are allowed to play rugby with females. Women will be sacrificial lambs for the sake of kindness and inclusion. Their physical safety is less important than a TW’s feelings? Crazy.

Sport is about fair competition. It’s not about being kind, otherwise all the losers would get gold medals at the Olympics. However, it is inclusive because anyone can compete in their biological sex class - or set up their own separate category.

ArabeIIaScott · 16/05/2023 11:28

I do agree about the sunlight, but I worry for any girls being forced or encouraged to play rugby with Julie Curtiss.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 16/05/2023 11:28

I reckon Nancy needs to shout this from the rooftops ! Stonewall don't give a fuck about women's safety (let alone their rights) - as this shows! And if Nancy can stand "Tigergirl" alongside Nancy, even better

The more sunlight these batshit demands get, the quicker the rest of the population properly understand the real issues.

ArabeIIaScott · 16/05/2023 11:30

Is there any way we can help boost Nancy's signal? Doesn't seem to be getting much traction on Twitter.

Hmm, tigers can seriously damage women. And often do.

Whaeanui · 16/05/2023 11:33

Obviously it’s wrong for any sport but to go all out and support this in rugby is to me, showing no regard or concern for women’s safety at all. In my country our women’s rugby is dominated by Polynesian and lesbian women, the idea of dragging them kicking and screaming as suggested is just horrible. Horrible. I love rugby but it is known as an incredibly dangerous, contact sport. It’s a hard game for anyone but particularly women, who have to play with the same field size, ball size and game duration as men, nothing is adjusted. It’s not catering to women’s needs as it is. This would destroy it.

NZ Rugby Union still hasn’t published its decision on their policy, which I and many women made submissions for the consultation. It’s been at least 3 years of consultation and meanwhile men can play in the women’s category at amateur level.

ArabeIIaScott · 16/05/2023 11:36

That 'dragging kicking and screaming' quote needs shared absolutely bloody everywhere. Gleeful.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 16/05/2023 11:44

Tiger girl, eh?

Thats two delusions in one name, then.
