Caba Baba Rave - take your baby to watch nearly naked men in fetish gear

Journalist Dominique Samuels has posted video of one of their events: https://twitter.com/dominiquetaegon/status/1630948003962912768?s=61&t=gd6tu0Iz6JpyKXGLWMLGjg

Which features men gyrating and hanging from the ceiling surrounded by a crowd of clueless women and their babies.

I would say it's NSFW but it's apparently safe for babies so have a watch.

Here's a reddux article:

https://reduxx.info/uk-sold-out-rave-for-babies-featuring-drag-queens-prompts-outrage/

Since the video went viral, the company has taken down its website and Facebook and made their Instagram private. I wonder why? Confused

I thought I didn’t have any what the fuck’s left, but it turns out I do

huh

Cailin66 · 06/03/2023 15:45

Looks like Caba has cancelled their next event.

Tell me about it. I had to go back to it just to make sure and there the sign is behind them.

Fuck me that's grim.

Plus that bloody foldable chair again! (Rubs scars on face from an accident, aged about 18 months, with a foldable chair and my dad's razor )

EndlessTea · 06/03/2023 16:06

Those pictures make me gag

I can’t be sure exactly which events have had a bit for older children because they don’t have a separate name, they just have the bigger kids attend a bit later on - this venue definitely does the older children’s events tho.

Caba Baba Rave don’t enforce the under twos rule anyway - found this post from a Insta Mummy Influencer (I’ve left her account name visible because she was actively promoting this stuff to her followers)@. According to her profile her daughter is 3.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 06/03/2023 17:18

Here’s a few bits related to the Halloween event at Big Penny Social (you can see there are preschoolers in the audience- it’s from a video clip and poor enough quality that you can’t see their faces). The little girl leaning away from the burlesque fire performer was uploaded by her mum - emoji edit is mine.

The aerial performers in this one are a couple - they do really impressive work but it’s definitely artsy-adult themed in it’s normal context - I can’t tell what this performance was like movement wise and they aren’t wearing obvious fetish-themed wear but every time she goes legs first to the camera my mind screams ‘GUSSET!’

‘Aunt’ Lucinda’s boots, on the other hand, scream FETISH through a loud hailer.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 06/03/2023 17:23

The final image is from one of events at Vault in Lambeth. As far as I can tell there is nothing troubling about this performance at all (the video footage of thenone with his older daughter is on his Instagram).
In fact, I’d say it’s the one Cabababarave performance that is genuinely suitable for kids.

Dad is dressed like an everyday dad and the younger daughter is wearing what looks to be a classic big top acrobat outfit and the slightly older daughter seems to be wearing standard fashionable gymwear/sportswear.

Still, the girls must’ve still been around the other, less appropriate adult performers?

Plus I suspect there may be slightly difference licensing rules when the performers are underage themselves?

it would be annoyingly ironic if the only performer who got in trouble is the one with an actual child-friendly act, due to the venue not following licensing requirements!

Fire performer? You what now? There was me hoping that was glow sticks she was waving about.

I mean seriously. Fire, alcohol, no separation between performer and audience made up of babes in arms and crawling babies.

What could possibly possibly go wrong???

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 06/03/2023 17:29

It does feel like you’d like to see the risk assessment, doesn’t it?

Don't be such a party pooper! We all grew up in the 60s and 70s and none of us died, for goodness sake!

Well, apart from the ones who did.

exactly!

We had one lad on our street growing up that every November was used as the this is what happens when you play with fireworks example.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 06/03/2023 17:58

Definitely fire! I checked!

The Halloween devil is the Valentine Stripper? Showgirl?

Christ alive knows at this point.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 06/03/2023 18:17

man alive

the adults get to be behind a barrier, but the babies?

draw close to the fire and crawl into the path of the 12" stiletto heels kids! don't worry, your parents will be drunk so they won't interfere!

this just becomes a worse and worse idea every time you learn more about it

Will someone please please please wake me up, because life can't actually be this bloody bonkers! That or the dodgy drugs I took in my younger years are coming back to haunt me!

FrancescaContini · 06/03/2023 18:39

Fire eaters/ fire jugglers too?!

A crawling baby is going to get impaled or burned. If mom or dad is drinking, they won't have fast reflexes.

It’s an accident waiting to happen and the parents are thick as pigshit for taking the risk.

Murraydeservedit · 06/03/2023 18:52

There are insufferable instagram parent accounts droning on about how wonderful
drag is now. one has just posted videos of her young daughter at some drag convention saying how wonderful it was with all the hearts and rainbows.

It’s just all so right on and cool, say it makes you uncomfortable and you are a bigot who wants the world to burn.

I hate it.

Murraydeservedit · 06/03/2023 18:55

And God forbid some poor baby gets its hand trodden on by a stiletto or gets accidentally hoofed in the head. Imagine explaining that injury in urgent care when you stink of G&T?

I can imagine being brought up in a rainbow and unicorn filled hyper exaggerated feminine (even the men) lifestyle being absolutely suffocating for a gender nonconforming girl. They will think they are a boy and parents will do too. I know it's happening now but it looks set to get worse for the brand new generation.

EpicChaos · 06/03/2023 19:32

How have they been getting away with doing this for months, without being noticed before? How?
You get the impression, that some of these parents are repeat attenders, how many times exactly have they subjected their kids to this, especially the older toddlers?!
It gets more enraging every day!

EndlessTea · 06/03/2023 20:19

Does anyone remember James Makings (pisswank rubber man of the NSPCC) describing how he had a cool mum? And was totally oblivious to the fact he’d been groomed online himself as a fourteen year old.

Wow. I remember him with horror but didn’t realise his history. This is the trouble with grooming - the subject doesn’t realise what has happened until it’s too late. Sometimes years later. Trouble is, these kids will be the ones that suffer.

EndlessTea · 06/03/2023 22:40

Yes. He simply doesn’t get it. This is his current blog https://james-makings.com/2020/02/10/why-does-everyone-hate-sex/

Remember this guy thought Melinda Messenger (glamour model) and Munro Bergdorf (glamour model) would be fabulous ambassadors for a child safeguarding org, dealing with kids who have been sexually abused and exploited.

“Recently there seems to have been a resurgence of an archaic, Victorian mindset to sex in the western world. I’ve seen multiple articles and twitter rants about how sex – particularly gay sex and fetishes – are disgusting and dangerous, and should be kept hidden and secretive. There has been articles about how fetish events such as Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend in Washington DC should be stopped, and that fetish men should be banned from Pride parades because children seeing men in leather and rubber is apparently damaging to them. There is also frequent public lynching on Twitter and in the press because someone does/has done porn or put ‘home movies’ on the internet (I have direct experience of this one), as well as councils waging war on venues with sex licences and so much more….”

If you read the whole thing, you can see that he has the same, clueless, boundary-devoid ideas as the nut jobs in the Der Spiegel article upthread.
