A woman has been found guilty of raping two women when she was a man. Happened in Scotland. She hasn’t been sentenced yet - but where will she serve her sentence? In the womens prison?!
This is going to mean some serious discussions and tough times for the Scottish government. But it was surely only a matter of time before something like this happened.

@FrancescaContini no. The mugshot picture of him with the face tattoos, and then the one on the phone with the pink jacket, wig and long nails.

Shame they’re not showing the pink leggings photos. Shame on the BBC for perpetuating the lie that the rapist is a woman.

This will be worth listening to later.

Sorry meant to add it's The News Agent podcast, Lewis Goodall is interviewing Nicola Sturgeon, available from 5.00pm today.

BBC this morning are now showing the "before" and "after" picture of the convicted rapist which speaks volumes to 99.9% of the viewing public.

Good.

More mind-blowing stuff from TRSOH:

I had an off the record conversation with a Labour MSP who said that if a TW was perceived as male by women in prison when naked (& still be-penised), this showed how much we still need to do in society to dismantle bigotry. This is the context of GRR.

Speaking of whom certain vocal posters are notable by their absence in this discussion. Perhaps arguing "this never happens " elsewhere

In fairness one has this morning, but it was short and to the effect of saying everyone here is wrong because Reasons, which they won't discuss, so don't bother arguing with them. <And exit.>

Aaah I missed that

BaronMunchausen · 27/01/2023 22:46

The use of feminine pronouns by the students and the Mirror is so depressing. One student recalls when he started at the college two years ago that "she hadn’t fully transitioned yet" - what on earth does she mean? He wasn't wearing a wig yet? Wasn't wearing leggings yet?

I hope the students read Janice Turner in tomorrow's Times.

Crabo · 28/01/2023 06:45

Nicola Sturgeon is anti-feminist and needs removing from a position where she is downright dangerous to women with this legislation. Four years women have fought for their rights and now these people love throwing it all down the tubes. The lunatics are running the asylum

FrancescaContini · 28/01/2023 07:38

@BaronMunchausen It’s compelled speech. The female students were scared of being labelled T-phobic so they had to play along with the game of the Emperor’s new clothes. Perhaps they would have been thrown out of the course if they had been truthful with their speech. They also refer to his size, his “muscularity”, so they were perhaps physically intimidated by him too.

The mental and physical health of the female students were put at risk - all to indulge the rapist’s delusions.

He is not deluded he knows exactly what he is doing. He's shown exactly what the TWAW movement are achieving. Men in women's spaces just to intimidate.
**
If the college hadn't thrown him off sooner or later one of those girls would have been victim number 3.
**
He appears to me to be a very dangerous man who will do it again and I'm glad he's been moved from Cornton Vale.

And has scored the trans community a great big own goal in the process. Above all else I wish he hadn’t raped those poor women, but something and someone like him was going to come along sooner or later and expose this shit show to the mainstream for what it really is.

FrancescaContini · 28/01/2023 08:51

Delusion = a man can be a woman.

But yes I agree that these men know just what they’re doing.

Waitwhat23 · 28/01/2023 09:45

There's a problem with the admission process for Universities and Colleges here in Scotland. There's a rape survivor whose rapist (caught on a recording admitting to the rape) was expelled by Glasgow University but was able to re-register at the University of Edinburgh despite facing rape charges.

334bu · 28/01/2023 09:56

The problem for the Colleges etc is that they cannot condemn someone who has not yet been convicted. However, in Brysons case, the problem was, because he said he was a woman, the college allowed him access to what should have been female only situarions.

nilsmousehammer · 28/01/2023 10:00

Which is the problem when you allow males the freedom to announce they are female and expect everyone else to be ok with this.

Even in the face of the male behaving in wholly inappropriate ways and wrecking the group for the females involved.

It reduces females to nothing more than props in the male person's personal identity experience. And fuck that. Fuck that to the far side of fuck and then fuck it some more.

Exactly.
Organisations seem to feel compelled to allow men who say they are women access to what should be female only situations even though the Equality Act states they don’t have to.

The Equality Act is difficult to understand. The Equality Act needs to be updated to make absolutely clear that the characteristic ‘sex ‘ means biological sex.

Here is a Parliamentary petition to update the act if anyone would like to sign, b

This was the same thinking that led to Karen White's multiple sex offenses.

Allowed to Self ID into a women's locked mental health ward, where White serially raped and injured one woman severely

On remand in a women's prison White self ID'd into (and not refused because although in there waiting trial for multiple violent rapes not yet convicted) White cracked on assaulting a few more women.

The thing about this is always 'well we cant be mean and say no because it might not be that they're violent thugs who will abuse the females we're providing them with -until they've harmed one or two we can't be sure'.

Wtf is this?!

Men have repeatedly been offered these privileged opportunities regardless of the fact it treats women like animals or therapeutic resources, with those in charge willing to give the benefit of the doubt, Be Kind, Believe, Follow the Star Rainbow Pony, etc etc etc... and men have repeatedly used that opportunity to abuse the living daylights out of it.

It has been destruction tested. Way beyond the point it ever should have been in a world where women weren't a second class kind of subhuman group to those in power. The time is long past to go on providing more men with such opportunities in the hope that some may choose to not abuse and harm the females they have demanded access to.

From the Advertiser’s article:

*Scott then called Sheriff Livingston a "fucking transphobe bastard" and a "cunt" as he jailed her for a further year on five charges of assault and one of criminal damage.

The sheriff ordered the term to be served consecutive to her present, indeterminate sentence, before adding: "Take him down."*

Two things I noted… the first is that at least sheriff Livingstone got to see the sort of vitriol regularly dished out by the “most vulnerable” in our community. 🤡

And the second is that he finally ran out of patience and correctly sexed the violent man in the court. Unlike Scott’s solicitor who, TBF, must have wondered what he’d done to deserve having to represent him.

Just need to post the BBC's choice of image .... when we know there are others available....

A woman has been found guilty of raping two women
WarriorN · 28/01/2023 22:14

They don't usually say "known as a man called..."

It's usually just "previously named..."

WarriorN · 28/01/2023 22:15

Perhaps also clarifying it's not a transman?
