I thought MPs were bound by some standards of behaviour?

Yesterday the leader of the SNP at WM called his peers 'rabid gammon', which was shocking, but what I found more disturbing was Llloyd Russell-Moyle's verbal attack on Miriam Cates (clip above).

I actually found his behaviour frightening and alarming, and can't imagine how it must feel to have that venom directed at you by a colleague - let alone the slanderous accusations made.

Is it possible to make a complaint to the Labour Party about his behaviour?

You see, the problem is he's just too passionate.

'an emotional debate' - Miriam was completely calm and measured.

Can you imagine being his constituent? Can you imagine being a female constituent? A female constituent with views he disagrees with?

I know. It is horrific. I would be far too scared to write or go to his surgery. What would be the point?

Ah, he is so proud of his horrible performance he has shared it on his Twitter. Like a toddler showing you the potty:

I just watched this. He needed to be sent out.

M did not say that transwomen would harm children after getting a GRC.

He was not listening.

He was a stupid person, not worthy of his job, having a tantrum.

The point is that any dangerous person who wants access to children could use a GRC to hide their past and get access more easily. It is irrelevant whether they are ‘truly’ trans or not.

Boiledbeetle · 18/01/2023 16:43

The problem with his response in the clip, for him, is that he gave a wonderful live example of exactly what women are afraid of. And as we keep saying there is nothing to stop a man with his attitude and temper deciding to utter the magic words and then go and use the women's toilets.

KohlaParasaurus · 18/01/2023 16:44

Even if the "passion" was genuine, and I am sure it was nothing of the sort, it was calculated aggression from an experienced aggressor, we could do without having important decisions made by men whose emotional regulation hasn't developed beyond the level of a toddler.

ArabellaScott · 18/01/2023 16:50

He was not listening.

He definitely wasn't responding to Miriam's speech. So where did all the emotion come from? The 'passion' seems to me to be hatred, pure and simple.

Exactly. He thinks women are disgusting when they are talking really quite rationally and calmly about the erosion of their rights. He's exactly the sort of person who would be incredibly intimidating in a female only space.

Never mind being a fucking predator. Bullying, intimidating men are two a penny.

This awful man has had to apologise twice! He can't keep control of his mouth.

Reason?

He likes it. He likes getting angry.

Datun · 18/01/2023 17:11

StellaAndCrow · 18/01/2023 15:45

Yes, and fits with his previous behaviour e.g. saying JKR "exploited" her sexual abuse. As Datun said at the time,
"Wanting sex segregation because you've been sexually assaulted is exploitation of your own assault???
Dear God. Some men really do consider that women are less than shit on their shoe, don't they.
He is actually viewing J. K. Rowling's sexual assault as nothing more than an inconvenience to him."

Cripes, I was fuming then, and I'm fuming now!

There really is nothing more horrifying than seeing a man who quite genuinely fails to see women in any light other than how he can utilise them and their lives.

A woman's assault has no dimension, other than the one that will affect him, and in that case, inconveniently. What was she thinking having an experience that would interfere with his entitlement!

He is not interested in addressing what Miriam Cates had to say. He wants to use what she said to goad himself into fury because he thinks, I don't know what? It makes him looks self-righteous? Crusading?

Nah. He looks like a common or garden sexist wanker.

StellaOlivetti · 18/01/2023 17:14

I’ve complained.

Lottapianos · 18/01/2023 17:25

'And as we keep saying there is nothing to stop a man with his attitude and temper deciding to utter the magic words and then go and use the women's toilets.'

Right. Hes never going to manage to join those dots though, is he? What a weird and scary person he is

Blort · 18/01/2023 17:27

He got carried away, he cares so much - he couldnt help his temper.

Right out of the abuser's handbook.

ArabellaScott · 18/01/2023 17:27

Any woman that says his behaviour is scary is going to be accused of something, isn't she?

OP posts:
Blort · 18/01/2023 17:27

Do you know (on a roll now), I am fucking SICK of these weird little men with their big fat hard ons for themselves and how woke and liberal and progressive they are. And how 'kind' and 'empathetic' and marvellous they are. They're so fucking smug and pleased with themselves, and then here come these evil bitches with their 'needs' and 'rights' and it's all far too much hard work. And one millimetre below the surface is a load of boiling hot steaming misogyny

They are only interested in themselves, and they can all fuck off.

He seems rather hard of understanding. Did he not listen to Miriam Cates, or did he not take any notice of what she actually said?

Mollyollydolly · 18/01/2023 17:35

Anyone watching 'Happy Valley" Just realised the creep reminds me of the teacher. I despise LRM and he's got a job for life down there in Brighton hasn't he?

ChristinaXYZ · 18/01/2023 18:02

ArabellaScott · 18/01/2023 15:42

It's not 'tone' to scream - literally scream, I'm not being hyperbolic - at a woman, jab your finger at her. That's bullying, abusive aggression.

Spot on - the weak, victim-blaming apology just adds the sense of his bullying behaviour.

I think we should complain anyway we can. To Starmer, to the Labour chief whip and in writing to the Speaker. I don't know why he was allowed to stay in the chamber. I also thing the babyish face pulling by Charlotte Nichols is also extremely disrespectful. twitter.com/Spacecrafting76/status/1615377958939533312

In this case, it looks to me like he actually wants women to object.

He's found a nice little, arousing reason to yell at them. And as long as even one fucking loser in the distance, beyond the horizon, thinks it's the right side of history, he's on itttt.

When this all goes down the pan, and it will, he'll find another reason to yell at women.

I couldn’t agree with this more. A perfect demonstration of what we might face when certain men feel entitled to enter women only spaces.

Suzi89 · 18/01/2023 18:49

His “apology” is disgusting, he did not apologise to Miriam he apologised to the Speaker and that was it.
