Will just say this again, if somewhere, eg a women's refuge uses the Equality Act to say their services and their staff are women only, then no man with a GRC saying he is a woman can use the service or work there.
The EA over rides the GRA.
So although Scotland will have a different route to getting a GRC it does not change the EA. Unless Scotland now decided to opt out of the UK EA.
The problem with have is even before this vote too many people, including women chose not to use the EA excemption to support women's sex based rights.
We need to have a very clear and very strong campaign making everyone, particularly women understand, that the EA allows single sex services, and in this instance a GRC does NOT mean someone has changed their sex. (which also shows that the GRA is a legal fiction as the EA recognises that it isn't actually true).
