Of course the Tories should hold the SNP to account. It is what an effective opposition should do. Where was Labour? Are they an opposition party or do they see their role as ‘be kind’.

And to Arabella. It is shocking. The only comfort is that we are on the right side of history and at some point people will come to their senses.

It will be at least a month before it receives Royal Assent, so no-one will be able to obtain a GRC in line with the bill immediately.

I can't watch any more of this debate I'm struggling with watching the side i'd normally be in agreement with talk absolute bollocks whilst finding myself nodding along with the Conservatives.

I'm internally massively conflicted. I don't like not standing with the left, its not my natural position to be so against what they stand for.

I honestly don't understand why they don't see what we see when we look at all the evidence.

I'm off for a lie down, the cat has pre-warmed the bed for me.

I have been despairing today at the contempt in which my own Government views the women of this country.

Who the fuck is this waffly bugger on now talking about how we always ‘record gender’ - what use is that? Does he mean sex? And if he does, does he not know that sex has stopped being recorded in many instances. What utter nonsense.

Recording gender will not help us show what we've done under CEDAW.

If my 13 year old’s peer group is anything ti go by, you don’t have to go much below 16 to find some people who think gender ideology is all nonsense. And who recognise it as some troubled and unhappy young people expressing that (and encouraging each other). His description would probably include mention of blue hair and ‘weird anime people’ (because that is how he and his friends view this)

They see it all as silly fringe issue and treat if with the same eye roll they reserve for lots of other stuff that happens at school (and is said by teachers - like a claim that a class project will be ‘fun’). They just don’t bring it up or talk about it; mostly they ignore it and don’t mention it because they see it as irrelevant.

Let’a not assume that all young people are on board with gender bullshit. It’s possible that many of them are silently skeptical but a think it’s too boring, ridiculous and irrelevant to them.

So who is Sue?

Does that mean that Maggie Chapman has used overtly derogatory language to describe one of her constituents?

Or, if the correspondence was part of her equalities role, simply a Scottish citizen.

MSPs can say what the like in parliament and that’s important But it’s a very poor reflection on parliament to have them standing up an insulting normal Scottish citizens on the basis that they hold particular views (which are protected in law).

Does she want to describe a Scottish citizen as a ‘fat cow’ too? TERF is not better.

My son is 16. Past legal school age, in s5.

I had to give consent yesterday to him being allowed to walk home from school alone in the event of sudden closures during the school day.

and yet in 6 months time he’d be able to change his legal gender and I can do nothing about it?

And so it happens Scotland have abandoned women and children for a handful of larpers.
