Who would you like to see come out as GC?

There are a few outspoken women, who I secretly daydream they’re GC. Top of my list would be Oprah. I’d be thrilled if she was a closet GCer. She would shut up all those people who spout crap like “TWAW just like black women are women” and other guff. But in reality, I doubt this will happen.

Also on my list, in no particular order is
Jenner Lawrence, Sharon Horton (I know she’s friends with Aisling Bea so it’s unlikely), Meryl Streep. I’ll add a few more names when I remember.

I think Carrie Fisher would have been GC, she was very smart and understood the issues women face.

And Victoria Wood too, who had a good handle on how size and class issues impacted woman (I miss VW, so incredibly talented).

Who would you love to see talk out about this?

I hope Scarlett Johansson might be GC - based on nothing but her getting fired from that 'trans' film by TRAs, the fact she sued Disney so doesn't really care much for toeing the line and also she isn't bothered about having the 'correct' opinions.

Saying that she's probably got pronouns on insta so what do I know.

And I definitely think John Waters has to be. He has to BE.

Of course George Michael would be GC. He was sensible and intelligent, he’d be like James Dreyfus. Can you imagine George being told to expect to encounter a “gay man with a vagina” while out cruising? He’d put that down straight away.

I think/hope that a good proportion of people mentioned will be GC but have been quietly keeping their heads below the parapet (and who could blame them).

I wish there was a secret society they could all join and then do a mass coming out - safety in numbers. It must be hard as many will fear for their livelihoods, but the BBC/other media can't block all of them.

I love how the Twitter thread about this this thread has turned into a similar string of speculations about who would/would not be GC. And why not? It’s OK for either side of the debate to speculate. But the difference is, people don’t get death and rape threats for declaring their support for gender ideology, and many do it because they feel compelled to or to get woke points, not because they actually believe it.

Harry Styles' "lovely open hearted" fans in Glasgow heckled Mitski because she is "different". Also Wolf Alice in Belgium (I think). I saw HS with Mitski as supporting Manchester. She's a Kate Bush/Bjork style singer and she was fucking awesome. What's not to love if you are an open minded kind of person.

The point I'm making is that Harry Styles is probably afraid of upsetting such fans by being old-fashioned gender nonconforming but believing in biology.

Also like Billie Eilish, Zara Larsson has spoken out against porn, which are somewhat contiguous with GC views though not necessarily aligned. It's good to see Gen Z icons starting to have some critical thinking about 'sex positive' culture.

Come on Labour Party it's so annoying. Also having just this vile government being GC makes the rest of us look bad as it looks like we align with them.

I think Miranda Hart would be, there were a bunch of jokes in Miranda about people assuming she was a cross dressing man. Victoria cohen Mitchell surely is, she's so super clever, badass feminist, and one of those of famous people you convince yourself you'd be great friends with if you ever met.
I'm sure there are many more famous people that are GC but have watched what happened to jk Rowling and are in fear of being cancelled.
