Excellent article from Jean Hatchett about the recent fascism debate.

https://thecritic.co.uk/men-of-the-far-right-and-the-womens-movement/

This bit really struck me:

On one side of the fence are aggressive men screaming “fascist” at women who are clearly not. On the other side, skulking in the shadows, beneath the banners of women, are men who clearly are.

Can it do truffles also? I like a truffle.

Helleofabore · 29/09/2022 09:49

ClogLady

I hear you. But how many farmers have the sense to understand there are only two sexes. I would be completely upfront about what the pig will be used for. I will have to ask permission though for photos because someone will inevitably create a meme for the Fascist hunter pig that will misrepresent what the pig does and because it is snuffling the Fascist, some people will say it is associating with the fascist and will create a 'Fascist Pig' meme.

That meme will go on other t-shirts that some people may have the privilege to do.

Hepwo · 29/09/2022 09:49

An Anti Fascist Pig?

Surely this is a job for the Antifa / black pampas?

They did a very poor job of Antifa-ing at Brighton. Perhaps the Brighton Feminist gang could give them some training in checking ID and Twitter accounts in public places as they seem to focus on middle aged women by mistake.

The Brighton Feminist gang could have shared their intel in advance with the Black Pampas and the offensive fascist pigs could have been surrounded immediately by Antifa with Carly May taking all the credit.

How different the Brighton Argus reports would have been. Carly May would have been covered in glory instead of pig sh**.

Brighton Feminist gang - do better.

FOJN · 29/09/2022 09:49

Can you imagine how other people might see a t shirt with poundshop fascist on it?

Please understand I don't give a shit. KJK stands accused of being a poundshop marine le pen and associating with fascists. One is a wholly unnecessary classist slur and the other is untrue. Why would I care about defending myself against shit people make up. My suggestion is about taking away the power of the accusation to do reputational damage and highlighting it's absurdity.

Not a good idea as it will get confused and if any feminist has had a truffle pizza, or truffle crisps, the pig will think snuffle them and we will think they are fascists!

And they could be.

beastlyslumber · 29/09/2022 09:53

If the pig says you're fash, you're fash. It's an antifascist pig, how could it be wrong?

Hepwo · 29/09/2022 09:54

Is it a talking 🐖?

Helleofabore · 29/09/2022 09:55

Can you imagine how other people might see a t shirt with poundshop fascist on it?

Right! And imagine going back to the source of who wrote about Kellie Jay Keen being a poundshop Le Pin? Are you out there denouncing Sarah Ditum for coining such an offensive phrase? Or indeed being part of the 'domesticated zombie' interaction?

No. You are here telling posters off for their privilege of saying they want a t-shirt with a slogan on.

DomesticatedZombie · 29/09/2022 09:55

You rang?

I had no idea truffle pizzas were a thing. I'm in.

Helleofabore · 29/09/2022 09:56

No hep. Pigs don't talk.

And I don't have enough time to teach a pig to push a choice of buttons to indicate they found a fascist or a truffle.

TheClogLady · 29/09/2022 09:56

Don’t be daft, Antifa hate pigs.
ACAB.
APAB?

Not a good idea as it will get confused and if any feminist has had a truffle pizza, or truffle crisps

Definitely a problem for B-right-on dwellers.

I’ll stick with my northern pie and peawet. Much safer.

beastlyslumber · 29/09/2022 09:56

Anyone remember that game, Pass the Pigs?

We could have an antifascist version. Fash the Pigs. Roll the pigs and if they form the shape of a swastika, you're fash and can't come into the park.

Helleofabore · 29/09/2022 09:57

DomesticatedZombie · 29/09/2022 09:55

You are back!!! Wonderful!!

Cheese pizza with truffle oil is good. A rare treat is one with a slice of truffle.

And we are also not on this thread creating extra divisiveness by declaring getting a slogan onto a t-shirt (which any child or teen can do if they are crafty enough, despite 'class') is privilege.

Nope. That went right over your head didn't it.Do you not think flirting with slogans about fascism could be seen as offensive to some members of the public who have memories of the horrific history of facism???
Re whoever said I have a rage about Posie etc ..she annoys me as she has obviously undone any good work that real feminists have done with her shenanighans. As a person ? She is as meaningless to my life as I am to hers.¹

DomesticatedZombie · 29/09/2022 09:58

Fab. As a muddle class zombie, I will add it to the list of quick and easy dinners.

Sourdough crust with truffle slices for the naice ladies.

Deep fried with extra truffle oil for the ones who identify as Northern at birth.

It’s based on Sarah Ditum’s tweet. Take it up with her.

beastlyslumber · 29/09/2022 10:00

She is as meaningless to my life as I am to hers.

Unlikely. You're here obsessively ranting about PP and she doesn't even know you exist.

Fuck me

do you not think calling someone who isn’t a fascist a fascist might offend too?

you’re unhinged on this subject

Helleofabore · 29/09/2022 10:01

Do you not think flirting with slogans about fascism could be seen as offensive to some members of the public who have memories of the horrific history of facism???

I do. As I have just said. Go and talk to the person who was responsible for coining the phrase.

And does that mean that t-shirts cannot have slogans that some people might find offensive?

Really? Shall we extrapolate where that then goes as well?

Helleofabore · 29/09/2022 10:04

Do you not think flirting with slogans about fascism could be seen as offensive to some members of the public who have memories of the horrific history of facism???

Have you really thought this through?

There are people in this movement throwing around the word 'fascist', calling people 'fascist' who are not fascist, without considering just how fucked up that is when you consider the people who are even now currently living under truly fascist people.

Yes.... We fucking DO get it. That is why a poster made a joke about it. It has become ridiculous.

We are not the ones on this thread board throwing around the word.

Helleofabore · 29/09/2022 10:05

'people in power'

Hepwo · 29/09/2022 10:07

Re whoever said I have a rage about Posie etc ..she annoys me as she has obviously undone any good work that real feminists have done with her shenanighans

We are all ears. Do tell us what has come undone?

No points for any references to pathetic Twitter TRAs bleating about fash.

ArabellaScott · 29/09/2022 10:08

'creating extra divisions' would be people flinging names about and accusing women of 'fascism' or 'aligning with fascists'. I'd say.

Not making a joke about T shirts.

(I am going to bet that the hypothetical T shirt doesn't exist.)

Helleofabore · 29/09/2022 10:09

We are not the ones on this thread board throwing around the word.

And we are not the ones who are stirring up division.

Just the fucking opposite if you read any of my posts. We are saying, sure KJK missteps. I don't know if many people wholly agree with her on everything. There will be some who do. But we are saying we appreciate all the feminists for their work and I actually believe, that feminists should not be calling people 'Poundshop Le Pins' or domesticated zombies or vile piles of dog shit or as thick as a turd (or whatever Julie Bindel said about KJK) as some other feminists, and can just disagree with each other without the derogatory remarks.

What the actual fuck do you think many of the posters on this and other threads are saying?

LK1972 · 29/09/2022 10:10

beastlyslumber · 29/09/2022 09:36

Look. If fascists want to hear and share what ordinary women are saying about the impact of gender ideology on their and their kids' lives, then surely that's a good thing?

If fascists are spreading the message, "don't mutilate kids," then what's the problem?

Let them livestream it. I hope ALL the 29 paid up fascists in the UK saw it.

Not according to Jean Hatchett seemingly, as she writes about Tommy Robinson:
'Alarmingly, during his speech he appeared to be seconding and regurgitating some of the views of feminist women on the trans issue'

I feel in her view anything said by a fascist becomes problematic, even if they agree with your own argument.

It's like - here are fascists, they are entirely unreachable 'other' who should be shunned, as they are not capable of rational arguments and their serpent's tongues will spread poison (even if they don't talk, just livestream).

The left is excellent as demonising and dehumanising, the scale of atrocities committed against their own people by left authoritarian regimes far outstrips those by right ones. Stalin, Mao and Pol Potwere mainly concerned with rooting out internal enemies, wiping out tens of millions in peace times.

So proud of left-wing women in carrying on the great traditions, let's just ostracise those we disagree with, dehumanise them and behave like their very presence is contagious, that's the way to build a better, fairer, more compassionate society Hmm
