I said on here once that while I admired her work and utterly condemned the abuse her and her family gets there were certain things about her I wasn’t so keen on.

Both factions of Labour have lost this to the Conservative Government. A few Labour women made a contribution to that achievement in the face of severe hatred from their party, and if their party are enjoying their distress then non of us are surprised after what we've witnessed Labour do.

They have their own fringe meeting coming up shortly and no doubt their comrades will be as nasty and intimidating and spiteful as they can manage.

Every protest or demonstration I ever attended has had a crew of dodgy blockes turn up looking to push their own agenda or to make things “kick off” so they can get cheap thrills from a riot. It is a free country, just, so none of those genuinely concerned about the particular issue have any say over who else shows up.

I have noticed that it is mostKy those coming to denounce KJK that use those terms. ‘It is a cult’, ‘worship’.

They are very divisive terms designed to rile others and mock. Like most mature adults, I expect that each person supporting KJK, will agree on some things and disagree on others she says and does.

What we seem to agree on, is that she is getting out there and supporting women in ways others are not. It is not necessarily that she is doing ‘more’, she is doing different things. And she should continue to do this without the public denouncements she is getting.

But again, posters are delighting in censuring women about who they listen to, what they read and what events they attend.

I think it's more bemusement, a similar thing happened a few years ago when you guys argued a bit about sitting with the US religious right and Hatchet, plus some others, got marginalised for pushing back.

I dont worship PP unreservedly, some of the stuff isn't to my taste, because she doesn't tiptoe around the issue for fear of a backlash. She gives no shits.
But there's no denying that she is very effective at getting more main stream coverage.
She basically trolls the tra's into revealing themselves as the nasty little men and handmaidens they are. She knows they will protest her where ever she goes and uses that to her advantage. Shouty baby woman was an absolute gift, they cant help themselves, they are supplying their own sunlight and its fucking fabulous..

None of these are “impossible standards of purity” imho. It’s entirely possible to campaign for womens rights without harassing BLM activists or applauding blackface, without collaborating with white supremacists, without being anti-abortion, and without taking money from the US far right.

I'm not that up on PP - how can i find out about these things? What puts me off her is the cult of personality that has sprung up around her. Even while i agree with some of what she says.

Best way to find out these things is to smoke whatever her detractors are smoking.
