It bears repeating that her colleagues in this situation are not comedians, but healthcare workers.

The article says 'As well as attacks from strangers Ms Miller said fellow comics and staff she has worked with harmoniously for four years have shunned her, adding that in some cases she has worked successfully with them throughout six different festivals'. (The 'festivals' line makes it sound like fellow comics / venue staff.)

I'm bewildered by this - has she said anything about trans women in the course of the show, or is her crime literally just omitting to mention them?

Her 'crime' is not centering a group of entitled, narcissistic males with fragile egos in shows about female anatomy.

Her colleagues are a fucking disgrace.

Holy crap this has gotten way out of hand.

I saw her show last Friday. It was hilarious, informative and very well evidenced. She talks about the anatomy of the female reproductive system, but mostly the vulva, vagina and clitoris (less about wombs and ovaries).

She uses some very silly props to build a vagina out of cloth and talks about it all.

She cracks jokes about "minge mist" and "fanny farts". It is all superbly woman centred but she also talks about trans men as well because they too have these bits, even if they are affected by testosterone usage.

I bloody love her.

Why can't we talk about ourselves? Why am I not allowed this?

Oh I do hope she just keeps going. She seems incredibly resilient, especially against all this bollocks, so I’m assuming she will.

I couldn’t make Edinburgh this year, but her show would have been front and centre for me, if I could have.

She works with transgender people. And helps them

her fellow performers are too afraid to even look at her.

I must make every effort to go and support her and watch her show, even though it's over four hours away. I cannot have this! It would be fabulous to get all the women from the 'undercarriage' thread on a bus to go and cheer her on. We'd need some strong pelvic floors or a shitload of tena ladies 😁

Females, not making your body and any conversation about it all about male people (and not prefacing any comment about it with a long long spiel about how male people are obviously much much more important when it comes to female biology and adding about nine grovelling apologies before you get to the point...

This is why 'cis' is not just an innocuous prefix. It enables a culture where focusing only on 'cis' is not tolerated. This so clearly shows up the trans lobby as a movement which serves men's political interests.

Seems to me Elaine, by talking only about women, NB females - can't think how else to say it- & transmen, is highlighting that post-genital surgery TW are NOT like us. All they can aim for is a passable imitation of female genitals. And if the post-op aren't like women, the 'pre-op' certainly aren't going to be.

A neo-vagina is not the same as a vagina, it does not have the same structure nor the same abilities. Think of the astonishing stretching the vagina undergoes during birth. Every time someone like Elaine discusses female anatomy and physiology they bring the differences to the fore. And transwomen hate that.

She is brilliant, very funny, and her work is so important to women. My pelvic floor is in top shape thanks to her 😀Of course the TRAs can't tolerate her, there's no fuzzy areas and 'sex is a spectrum' nonsense when you're talking about the amazing female body! I'm pretty sure she won't be intimidated by these bullies but I hope she knows how much support she has.

She is trans inclusive. There just seems to be something about the trans people she focuses on that winds up other trans people, almost as if the people spitting on her make some sort of important distinction between the two groups. Can't put my finger on what that could be....

That's fucking appalling. I remember her Mumsnet posts and I have the Squeezy pelvic floor app nagging me to squeeze every day because of her. My pelvic floor thanks you Gussie, please keep doing what you are doing.

This isn't about trans, it's only about males. This is a men's rights movement. With a rather withered fig leaf that's slipped really a bit too far for decency now.

WTH??!! I absolutely love Elaine Miller. I saw a video of a talk she gave somewhere else (was posted on here ages ago - possibly in Alloa??) and she talked about the specific issues that trans men face, as well as menopausal women. She is a women's physio and therefore her specialist area is women's bodies, why TF would she talk about male bodies?

I'm really appalled at this. Just when you think you've seen it all.
