I am heartened to see a post about this on an Edinburgh based FB page - hundreds of likes in support of Elaine and not one unsupportive comment. Maybe telling women they can't talk about their specific biology is finally being revealed as the misogyny it clearly is.

Except someone has popped up tonight on said post picking apart the language to promote the play (I.e women) as we all know, some women (post op transwomen) don't have vulvas. So it's not inclusive is it 🙄

Two people picking apart the language on that FB post now. But that's two out of so so so many. Everyone who has seen the show is saying they loved it.

Sounds like a fab show for women. Not everything has to be for everyone... people need to grow the fuck up

That's not inclusion, that's what we used to call being a dog in the manger. Just because someone doesn't have a vulva they want to spoil everyone else's fun.

I'm on the same group, and I'm finding two things reassuring

1. the ratio of positive to negative comments. The vast majority are supporting Elaine and most of them aren't names I recognise as particularly GC feminists. This is women calling this bullshit on a big public fb group. En masse.
2. how silly the complaints sound. We've got "assigned female at birth" and someone claiming the show is transphobic based on "I heard" who has bern fairly clearly told that if you've not seen it you shouldn't be saying that and looks fairly daft as a result. They aren't convincing anyone imo.

But as I understand it, she DOES do trans healthcare too (for the problems specific to transmen), whether or not she talks about that in the fringe show.

The thing about the stickers that really annoyed me is that it is trying to erase female biology. To deny that it exists. People with female anatomy do exist and we should be entitled to discuss it freely. In exactly the same way that people with male anatomy should be able to discuss problems which affect them. Why should a physio who specialises in female anatomy be expected to discuss male anatomy, which isn't her area of expertise?

They don't want her to discuss male anatomy, they want to stop her using the words woman and women, and probably female too, in her shows that are solely about female anatomy, because the males who claim to be women will not allow those words to be used to, ya know, describe women because is points out the fucking obvious biological and anatomical differences between the sexes.

In essence, mentioning female biology makes some male people feel upset.

So females should shut up and everyone should not talk about it.

Going to guess not the meadows page - that is generally full of comments about how the police are "literally" killing trans people in the meadows.
