Watching for the first time, this isn't as exciting as I'd hoped.

We're not going to get a Jack Nicholson style "YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT I DID" here.

tabbycatstripy · 20/05/2022 11:09

Inflammatory/provocative is such an unreasonable charge. Trans activists are easily inflamed and provoked. They’re condemning GCC online anyway, after this whole circus.

It's a sea of sludge with occasional gems. Why do you think we all swoon at lip balm or knickers?

TopKnotch · 20/05/2022 11:10

Thank you @Lougle and @IdisagreeMrHochhauser I am not C Morris :)

I have both closed my camera, put tape over it and selected none - maybe I'm a bit paranoid?! :D

Jesus, quite glad i only managed to log in today. This is addictive.

TastefulRainbowUnicorn · 20/05/2022 11:10

omg i've been listening in for about five minutes and she's already driving me mad. Is it tactics to drag out the examination and waste time?

Is there reason why JK wasn't scheduled earlier to give evidence seeing as JK had a criminal trial starting.

My take on all the issues is that whenever you think 'surely they could have xxx' - yes they could. But didn't. And that is all part of the power play here to disrupt and delay and quite frankly if they actually feel they are in the right, then they wouldn't have to behave like this. It is downright disgusting that they are playing these games.

Lougle · 20/05/2022 11:11

11.11 - what a star!

Yep.

tabbycatstripy · 20/05/2022 11:12

How does Chambers supervise the activities of working groups?

Good question.

I’d also ask who supervises marketing.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/05/2022 11:12

Martin Reuby - that is a cracking question!

nauticant · 20/05/2022 11:12

I thought JK did a good job and was relatively straightforward.

Signalbox · 20/05/2022 11:12

Does that mean there is no hearing this afternoon if AH is off to a funeral?

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/05/2022 11:12

In the film, his back story is going to be cracking...

I haven't fully caught up on this thread yet but thank you to everyone for providing the colour and human interest angle to those of us who were not live-watching.

I am now watching for the first time (Ben Cooper fan club achievement unlocked!).

Just really quick observation, JK seems to be covering her mouth with her hand quite a bit. I know this is common enough when looking at a screen, resting your chin in your hand... but does this make a defensive impression? I imagine pop psych/body language experts might have an opinion...

Hand over mouth when speaking is normally thought by body language gurus to indicate that deceit is in play, i.e. the speaker is subconsciously trying to suppress the deceitful words being spoken. It can also interact with one of the most powerful of human emotions, a sense of shame.

It really annoys me as I rely on lip-reading a lot especially if there is background noise or the speaker mumbles.

katmarie · 20/05/2022 11:13

MR's interventions are always very insightful

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/05/2022 11:13

It's possible JR will do this afternoon.

Martin Reuby - that is a cracking question!

It was excellent!

Zeugma · 20/05/2022 11:14

I reckon Martin Reuby is sharp as a tack. Good man.

Only if you reveal that you have adopted the garb of the PoundShop Ninjas and Black Pampers…

malloo · 20/05/2022 11:15

there was no Chambers oversight of the Trans Rights Working Group, they were just left to get on with it and JK didn't even know who was on it

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 20/05/2022 11:15

stimpyyouidiot · 20/05/2022 11:14

It was excellent!

Missed it, was it about the oversight/management of the Working Groups?

covering her mouth

www.forensicscolleges.com/blog/resources/10-signs-someone-is-lying

Speculating that sign #4 and #7 are interesting in this context, no? Hmm, but surely a barrister is well skilled in understanding body language and would be careful to ensure theirs aligns with the claims they’re making as witnesses?

Lougle · 20/05/2022 11:16

It's interesting that she can answer AH's questions so succinctly and definitively.

omahanebraska · 20/05/2022 11:17

AH seems stressed
